This was it.
They finally made it to the end.
Loki let go of Sylvie's hand as they approached the door of the Citadel. For a while, they just stood there, staring at it.
"Aren't you gonna tell me not to kick the door in?" Sylvie asked.
"It never made a difference." Said Loki.
Sylvie turned to him. "Well, if you think it's a bad idea, I prefer you to speak your mind." She told him.
Loki shook his head. "No." He said. "Nothing to say."
She couldn't back out now. Not after all she'd been through to get here.
"That'll be a first." Sylvie joked. Clearing her throat, she turned back to the door. But she still didn't open it. She just stood there, staring at it.
"Everything okay?" Loki asked.
"Yeah," Sylvie replied. "I just need a moment."
"Right," Loki said, stepping back to give her space.
"I've been waiting for this moment for forever," Sylvie muttered. "I didn't think I'd get here. Not right now, at least."
"I don't know what to expect, Loki." She said. "What if we're not prepared?"
Loki didn't know what to say to that. He didn't want to make her doubt the situation more.
"Take all the time you need, Sylvie." He said. He tried his best to stay quiet and be invisible so she could have the moment to herself.
Just before Sylvie could open the door, it opened by itself. Loki knew what it meant.
He knows we're here.
With a shared glance, Loki and Sylvie stepped into the Citadel, ready to fight.
They walked through the corridors of the Citadel, prepared for anything.
Except for...
"HEY Y'ALL!" Miss Minutes appeared in front of them with a bang, a contrast to the sound of a bell that announced her presence at the TVA (Author: HELP I ALMOST THREW THE REMOTE AT THE TV THE FIRST TIME I WATCHED THIS—)
Loki and Sylvie drew their swords in an instant, going on the defensive.
"You again," Sylvie said.
"Welcome to the Citadel at the End of Time." Said Miss Minutes.
"Come on," Loki whispered. They tried to move passed the Clock, but Miss Minutes followed them.
"Congratulations." She said. "Y'all had an awfully long journey to get here. He's impressed."
"Who's impressed?" Sylvie demanded.
"He Who Remains." Miss Minutes answered.
"And who is he?" Loki asked.
"He created all," she said, "and he controls all. At the end, it is only He Who Remains. And he wants to offer you a deal. He's been making a few creative adjustments, and he's worked it out so we can reinsert both of y'all back into the Timeline in a way that won't disrupt things."
"'Won't disrupt things'?" Sylvie repeated.
"Mmm-hmm." Miss Minutes confirmed. "The TVA can keep doing its vital work and y'all can live the lives you've always wanted."
"And what have we always wanted?" Asked Loki.
"Now, don't play coy with me, mister." Miss Minutes said. "You know how you got into this mess."
