Book One: Remnant's defenders

First day

Team RWBY's dorm...

No pov

It's been 3 days, and now, the first day of the semester has arrived. Everyone was either nervous, excited or both.

For team RWBY...well they were still asleep.

Y/n pov

I slowly began to wake up after I heard someone's alarm going off. I sat up on the bed and shook head before looking around, looks like I was the first one awake. As I got off from the bed, I heard another yawn, this time it was from Weiss. As I was grabbing my uniform, I saw her getting, clearly see wasn't a morning person.

Weiss: *Sigh* *See's Y/n* Oh! Y/n, you up too?

Y/n: Yeah, you ready for today?

Weiss: First day...who really is ready for it?

Y/n: Heh, true...hey I'm going to get breakfast after I change, wanna come?

Weiss: I'd like to, but you know how late the others have been waking up.

Y/n: Right...near noon, alright I'll help.

Weiss: What about breakfast? I don't want to hassle you if you had a plan.

She was a little surprised at Y/n's generosity, it would help, but then he might be too late to grab breakfast.

Y/n: Ehh, it's alright Weiss, having breakfast or not won't impair me.

Weiss was going to say something but decided not to. He was offering help, no reason to turn him down.

Weiss: Alright, I'll get Blake

Y/n: I'll take the other 2, Yang and Ruby aren't the easiest to wake up after all.

Time skip

After around 30 minutes of trying, Y/n and Weiss were finally able to get the 2 sisters out of bed. Ruby wasn't so difficult, Yang on the other hand, kept ignoring them until Y/n physically took her out of bed. Maybe not the most ideal way to wake someone up, but it was better than leaving her asleep.

As the 2 got ready, Blake, Weiss, and Y/n waited outside the dorm so they could leave as team.

Y/n: You think JNPR's heading out already?

Blake: Most likely

Weiss: I concur, with Pyrrha with them, she probably made them get up earlier.

Y/n: Alright fair point

5 minutes later...

Blake: I get they need time to get ready, but does it have to take 15 minutes?

Just as Blake finished talking, the 2 sisters slammed the door open, hitting Y/n, who wasn't expecting it at all.

Y/n: AAGH!

He stumbled back in pain as he covered his face.

Y/n: Really?!

Ruby covered her mouth in shock while Yang rolled her eyes.

Yang: Oops...Alright girls! We're ready!

Ruby: Yeah! Now time to head to class, which starts at 9...

Weiss: 9?! 

Weiss yelled in horror.

Ruby: Uh huh, and the given time is...oh crap.

Weiss: It's 8:50!! You guys took that long?!

Before they can argue, they were all swept off their feet.
