Y/n and Weiss both rolled out of the Matriarch's path and activated their weapons, ready to fight.

The Matriarch slowly turned around and glared at the 2 of them, it roared as it readied itself to charge again.

Y/n: So, you have a plan for this Weiss?

Weiss: Thinking! Wait for it to charge again!

As they waited for the expected attack, the Matriarch roared before charging again, aiming for Weiss. As it ran towards her, Y/n came from the side, ready to impale it. Y/n pulled his arm back, blade activated and was about to thrust forward when the Matriarch swiftly turned its head, interlocking the blade with its tusks.

Y/n: What the?!

Port: Boarbatusk Matriarchs have much faster reaction times than normal ones! Flaking does no good unless you have a greater numerical advantage!

Y/n grunted as he tried to pull his blade away, but the Matriarch was too strong.

Weiss: Ragh!

Y/n looked up as he saw Weiss activating her rapier for a dust attack. Unfortunately, the Matriarch saw this as well, with a roar, the Grimm yanked its head to the air, launching Y/n toward the airborne Schnee.

They collided with each other and were spent crashing down to the ground.

Yang: Weiss!

Ruby: Y/n!

Despite the crash, both students got up quickly, ready for combat.

Y/n: Got any other ideas?

Weiss: Try to get it on its back! Its weakness might be there!

Y/n: Alright, I'll attack head on, find a way to knock it off balance!

Weiss nodded before moving out of the way, Y/n on the other hand activated his second blade. The Matriarch stared at Weiss as she moved, but then returned its focus on Y/n. This time, Y/n ran towards the Matriarch instead. The boarbatusk quickly followed suit and began to charge towards to Y/n.

As the distance between the 2 got shorter, Weiss readied her rapier again, this time with Ice.

Weiss: Y/n! Now!

She slammed her rapier into the ground covering the floor with ice.

Y/n: Now?! Now what?!

Weiss' apparent "plan" caused Y/n to get distracted. Leaving him open

Y/n: Hurk!!

Y/n grunted in pain as the Boarbatusk's tusks collided with him, sending him backwards into a wall. As he crashed into the wall, his gauntlets came flying off, leaving him weaponless.

Despite that setback, it did have a small positive outcome. After the Matriarch hit Y/n, the ice created by Weiss reached its feet, causing it to lose its balance. With the amount of momentun that the grimm had, it caused it to slip and slide towards Y/n, who was recovering.

Y/n: Huh? Oh shit!

Y/n rolled out of the way just before the boarbatusk hit him. He tried to get up, but the ice created by Weiss made it near impossible.

Y/n: Weiss! Tell me your plan before you do anything!! 

Weiss: I-I-Look out!

Y/n quickly turned around and saw that the Boarbatusk was sliding towards him. It must have found out that the wall was a good place to launch off of.
