Y/N POV –
At afternoon you were sitting in the pavilion looking at the small waterfall. The place was still same and somehow brought peace to your mind. Miki's giggles mixed with the sound of water in background. Miki was joyfully playing with her new toys. Her infectious laughter was creating delightful melody that warmed your heart.
With a smile, you gently pulled Miki into your lap, he tiny hands still clutching her newfound treasure. You looked into her sparkling eyes, filled with innocence and curiosity. "Miki are you happy here in Yoon Mansion?" you asked, your voice soft and tender.
Miki, in her toddler babble, responded with cheerful giggles, her eyes now shifting toward you. She put the toy down and hugged you rubbing her body against yours. You smiled sweetly looking at her, her eyes heavy with sleep visible in them. She was playing since morning and was now tired. You could see her passing out in your arms.
As you carefully carried the peacefully sleeping Miki to bedroom, a wave of mixed emotions washed over you. The innocence of her slumber, contrasted against the complex world of Yoon Mansion. Gently lying her in the crib that Jeonghan brought for her, you watched her for a moment, the soft light casting a tender glow on her face. The realization hit you hard – she was in the right place, surrounded by luxury and comfort, yet this very royalty concealed dangers of its own.
You took a glance at sleeping Miki, and you walked to stand in the open balcony of your bedroom. No matter what happens now you knew you couldn't back down, and you needed to ensure Miki's safety. With Ara living in Yoon Mansion, you knew that everything won't go smooth. You still couldn't understand why Jeonghan allowed Ara in Mansion. The memories of morning incident flashed in front of your eyes. The disrespectful words thrown toward you hurt your heart but for Miki enduring it was mandatory.
You didn't realize how many time passed looking into void just like that. You came out of your haze by Jeonghan calling you, "Angel? Angel?" His voice was loud enough to wake Miki up. You turned around to look at Jeonghan.
"Your family is here to meet you." He said tuning his attention toward the crib. Your heartbeat increased after hearing the sentence from his mouth. For last one year you didn't contacted anyone from your family too. Generally, Miki was the only one you got by your side, even though sometimes you missed everyone you never tried to reach out for them.
"Appa" you heard Miki's voice. Miki was now standing in her crib looking at Jeonghan, rubbing her sleepy eyes.
"Hey Princess!" Jeonghan took Miki in his arms, showering her in little pecks all over her face. Miki giggled holding Jeonghan's face in her hands. You dramatically rolled your eyes looking at them. Miki was short tempered just like Jeonghan. Disturbing her nap would always lead you to handle her worst tantrums but with Jeonghan she was all fresh and giggly even after waking from sleep. Within a mere day Miki and Jeonghan were glued together. You then smiled thinking how they both were fighting earlier this morning but here they were now.
"Let's go down." You announced and walked out of room following Jeonghan.
As you came down in grand living room, the air was filled with cheerful energy. After greeting you formally your mother and siblings were immerged in Miki completely. It seemed liked they were more interested in new heir of Yoon, which you didn't minded. But the sight of your father with teary eyes caught your eyes. Your father never acknowledged your marriage with Jeonghan, he wasn't happy knowing you traded yourself for money to save him. He was angry at you the last time you remembered so you didn't dare to take a step forward.
However, Jeonghan's hand coiled around your waist as he pulled you toward your father. Your legs suddenly became heavy to walk yet you managed without breaking the character. You bowed down remembering the fact that he wasn't pleased to talk with you. But suddenly you were pulled into a hug by your father.
"You are safe, Y/n ah." You heard your father crying holding you. You hesitated but returned the hug realizing this was reality, your father was talking to you, he wasn't angry on you.
"Yes, Appa." You spoke through sob while tightening your hold as you finally let go all your emotions. You cried for a good time speaking your heart out. You apologized for your reckless behavior in past. But you knew at this moment your father only cared for your safety and he was really worried about you. Everyone was only caring about your daughter, but your father was worried for his daughter which made you happy.
Miki was irritated and was crying due to the amount of people around her continuously since morning. On top of that her sleeping time was bit messed up due to all this greet and meet. Somehow you managed to feed her by bribing in exchange of cake before dinner started. She was glued to you throughout dinner. It was time to bid goodbye to your family after dinner.
"Mr. Yoon, I would like to take Y/n and Miki to our place for some days. It's been so many days since..." Your father's sentence was cut by Jeonghan.
"That's not possible. You can take Y/n with you however my daughter is not stepping out of Yoon Mansion at any cost." Hearing Jeonghan no one spoke further, you can see disappointment on your father's face, but you couldn't help much. Your own face going smug hearing his statement. You knew Jeonghan's tendency to control everything.
You looked at Miki in your arms who was messing with the collar of your dress with her little fingers to have her meal by putting her hands inside your dress. You grabbed her hand earning a whine from her, big eyes fighting to remain open.
"It's okay, Appa. I'll visit later sometime. Miki can't manage without me by her side." You fake laughed to ease the tension in atmosphere which worked perfectly. Your family took their leave and Jeonghan left with them to walk them out. Meanwhile you immediately walked into bedroom. Few minutes of nursing and Miki was passed out. Surprisingly she didn't wake up even when you changed her into comfortable night dress. You walked into washroom to complete your night routine and changed into night dress.
You again walked into bedroom ready for bed. You took a glance at Miki's crib once again to see her sleeping peacefully. Yesterday you thought Jeonghan will never allow you to meet Miki again ever. But you were grateful that it wasn't possible due to Miki's age. She really can't live without you. You weren't giving up on Miki in any condition no matter what it cost. You adjusted the blanket on Miki neatly and headed toward bed.
You were about to slip under the sheets when something caught your attention. You walked toward the black cloth that hung on wall in bedroom. You didn't noticed it since yesterday. You weren't sure if it was appropriate to take look what the black cloth was hung there but your curiosity increased with each second. You hesitated looking at it while extending your arm. You huffed with annoyance as you felt frustrated. You pulled the cloth in one swift motion sideways holding one of the corners of cloth. Your eyes widened looking at the frame on the wall. The portrait of Jeonghan you made back in Jeju visible to your eyes. A smile tugged your lips seeing the painting of your handsome husband, his long hairs were really breathtaking site back then. The frame little bit smoky black on edges making you recall the sour memories of your burned art gallery. You loved Jeonghan so much, you planned your life together with him at that time just to get cheated by him. The flashes of past were painful with some sweet side. You raised your hand to touch the frame. Your fingers touched the cold glass covering the colored canvas beneath, but you startled hearing sharp voice of Jeonghan.
"What do you think you are doing?"
