CHAPTER - 9

Y/N POV -

After you calmed down a bit in Soobin's embrace he started speaking, his hand soothingly ruffled through your hair.

"Can you tell me now, what happened?"

You stared at Soobin with your still glossy eyes as you started telling him your story in trembling voice. Soobin's eye grew larger hearing every sentence as you continued to speak. When you finished, his mouth was agape looking at you. You felt small under his sympathic gaze. You really were pitiful.

"How old are you?" Soobin asked gulping as he looked down toward you.

"19." You said wiping your eyes as you continued speaking looking up at Soobin.

"I married him when I was 17, I had Miki within a year after our marriage." You said looking at Soobin who seemed shock hearing all the information from you. He was completely silent looking at you.

"Never knew he was such a bastard." Soobin finally spoke.

"Why you're still living with him?" He further asked you.

"Miki. I cannot survive without her. Jeonghan wouldn't allow me to take her away from him. She is heiress of his empire while I'm nothing. I can leave whenever I want but not Miki." You said looking away as you stated the reality. "I'm her mother, I cannot selfishly choose myself over her innocent childhood. She need the warmth of mother, I cannot just leave her behind to suffer in this toxic household. I carried her for nine months and raised her till now all alone to keep her safe. This people tried to kill me, tried killing my unborn child for power. If I leave her alone like this they might try to harm her even in future." You sobbed as you remembered your struggles to keep Miki safe.

"Let her father protect her then, it's his duty along with you to carry the load of parenthood. You cannot remain bound to this all alone, yous should bound him with you. If you cannot leave her behind stay here with her, with him and protect her. Taking away her birthright is not a solution, she deserves this wealth and power." Soobin said in one go, tightening his grip on your waist.

You sighed thinking about it. Soobin was right, you knew you cannot get away from Jeonghan at any cost. Soobin pulled you into hug and you leaned more into him keeping your head on his chest. Your tired eyes closed as you found warmth of Soobin's body in the cold outside of garden. You remembered snuggling close to Soobin as you drifted to sleep.

You woke up hearing your name being called out. You saw Madam Yoon in front of you. It was still dark, you wondered what time it was now. You found yourself snuggled in Soobin's embrace. You immediately jerked away from him realizing that Madam Yoon had seen you with him. Soobin also woke up due to sudden movement of you. He noticed Madam Yoon and realised the intensity of current situation. He got up and bowed down to Madam Yoon meanwhile you just sat there watching Madam Yoon.

Fear took over your whole body as you saw Madam Yoon staring at Soobin with stern gaze. Soobin awkwardly started walking away from you leaving you and Madam Yoon alone in pavilion. Madam Yoon called for Soobin and Soobin halted in his path. Madam Yoon crouched down to match you.

"Take your handkerchief with you." She said pulling Soobin's handkerchief from your hand harshly. Soobin quietly followed order taking the handkerchief and left the pavilion. You carefully watched Madam Yoon as you didn't knew what was coming for you. She was a gentle lady but you didn't knew how she would react seeing you with Soobin. As she raised her hand toward you, you scooted back closing your eyes. The way Jeonghan treated you earlier you were afraid of any touch from anyone. You thought she'd beat you too but as you felt nothing you slowly opened your eyes to see Madam Yoon holding handkerchief for you near you. She smiled softly looking at you.
