CHAPTER - 16

JEONGHAN POV - 

Jeonghan waited and waited outside the operation theatre. He didn't know how much time passed. He was still in shock. His blood boiled with anger thinking about the whole thing. Mia was sitting beside Jeonghan. She joined him before some time. She informed him that drivers of both the vehicles were already dead. Mia wasn't sure if Jeonghan was listening to her or not. He looked completely lost and tired. Jeonghan turned around and hugged Mia. She was startled but pulled him into hug as she felt her shoulder wet due to his silent tears. She didn't spoke any further and just stayed still.

"She's in extreme pain because of me." Jeonghan said in cracking voice.

"I don't even know if she'd survive or not." He continued while sniffing.

"I already told you to free her. Yoon household is too dangerous for her." Mia's voice also shakes speaking the words.

"I love her. I can't live without her." Jeonghan said pulling away to look at Mia in disbelief.

"Your own life is controlled. Why you still want to tangle hers?" Mia retorted bit disappointed.

"I thought she'd handle everything. She was capable of it." Jeonghan spoke wiping his tears.

"I also thought that initially. We failed, just because she handled her own household doesn't mean she could compete with this people's cunning nature." Mia stated.

"I think you're right." Jeonghan muttered.

The silence again engulfed the empty corridor. Jeonghan rested his head on wall and closed his eyes. No one spoke after that.

At dawn, Jeonghan opened his eyes hearing the operation theatre door opening. He immediately stood seeing Minghao coming outside.

"Come to my cabin." Minghao said monotonously and walked further. Jeonghan took a glance towards the operation theatre door with heavy heart. He turned his heels to walk beyond Minghao without looking back.

"She's in coma right now. Keeping her injuries aside she even had panic attack. Let's keep track of her medication response. We can just try for now." Minghao said looking at Jeonghan who sat in front of him with gloomy face.

"When she'll wake up?" Jeonghan asked earning a scoff from Minghao.

"To live such a life with you?" Minghao spat.

"Hao" Jeonghan shot his eyes up at Minghao being angry.

"Calm down. Every time you bring her here, she's always on verge of dying anyway." Minghao stated the fact which caused Jeonghan to remain silent. "I don't want to get into your personal matters, but I can't assure you when she'll wake up. It's completely up to her." Minghao said calmly further.
