CHAPTER - 18

Y/N POV -

"What do you mean?" You asked Jeonghan, looking at him in disbelief.

"You heard me, Y/N." Jeonghan was calmly speaking those lethal words.

"It's best for everyone. Sign the papers." He said. You stared at the papers in your lap. You can see Jeonghan's signature on divorce papers. Tears ran down your cheeks due to whole thing. This morning Jeonghan told you that he want divorce suddenly.

"Look, Angel. You deserve safe and peaceful life. You can do everything you always wanted to. No more need to keep living like this." He continued with sad voice.

"You know how dangerous life is, if you stay by my side. It's better to separate our path from here." You listened to Jeonghan without blinking your sad eyes. He pulled another papers keeping them on your lap and continued speaking.

"You have shares in Yoon Industries. Even after our divorce you will equally hold shares. You own art gallery and penthouse. If you want any other property you can ask for it. I'll also provide the money you'll need in future, so don't worry about it." Jeonghan took your trembling hands in his giving them gentle squeeze full of love and desparation.

"As for Miki, I promise I'll keep her safe and take care of her. However you cannot meet her again." Your mind went blank. Jeonghan's head was lowered the whole time.

"You always wanted this and I won't stop you anymore. You're free Y/n. But always remember, I love you." Jeonghan raised his head to look at you in your eyes. You met his teary gaze, his cheeks wet due to tear.

"I love you more than anything y/n. And I swear I'll go to any extent to protect you and Miki, even if I need to get away from you. I love you Yoon Y/n." Jeonghan said connecting his forehead with yours like always. The words however stirred something inside you. The memories of same confession around two years ago, in penthouse flashed back making your heart skip beat. He sounded so genuine right now and back then that your heart refused to accept the fact that after few days he was the same person who planned your death with Ara.

You woke up a week ago and your health was much better than before all thanks to Jeonghan. He really cared about you a lot in this last few days. You felt odd when he avoided speaking anything about accident. He was completely calm throughout the week. He showed you how much he cared for you through actions. He didn't spoke much, no teasing, no annoying pranks which was not like Jeonghan at all. However this morning he suddenly held conversation with you regarding divorce throwing you in utter shock. And here you were, in his arms, a complete mess of tears thinking about leaving your husband and Miki. Sure you weren't much fond of Jeonghan but Miki, Miki was your everything. You knew the power dynamics in Yoon Family which scared you more because you have to divorce him even if you don't want to.

Jeonghan placed a light kiss on your lips. "Only if you were strong enough to stand against this menace people, seeing you in pain kills me, my Angel. Live a happy life for me, wifey." Jeonghan mumbled against your lip, pulling away with sob.

"Nana is going to announce about me and Ara officially tonight. Sign the papers before that." Jeonghan stood wiping his tears with sleeve of his expensive silk shirt. You kept staring at him with disbelief. You didn't said anything at all. Jeonghan walked out of room leaving you alone and deeply hurt.

JEONGHAN POV -

Jeonghan came out of master bedroom leaving you alone inside. His heart was heavy despite finally doing what he thought would be right. He knew his desicion wasn't wrong at all but still it didn't felt right.
