Chapter 13
Jayden's POV
It had been 6 hours already and they haven't given us any news on Rora. I had asked Leo to tell the private investigator to find the person who did this; someone had to pay for hurting my woman. Her blood had dried on my shirt but I didn't care, I normally hated dirt but right now I Can't leave without knowing she's fine. I had called some other body guards to stand at the hospital entrance, it was patent someone was out to kill my woman, I was too worried to deal with the careless one I left to protect her. I had told the police to check on Kayla as a suspect because I didn't trust her one bit, but they said they couldn't because I had no evidence against her. It was around 12am when the door finally opened, he doctor came out.
"Jayden"
"How is she James? Will she be fine?" James was our family doctor.
"yes she's out of danger now, she lost a lot of blood but we were able to refill her with the one's we had here, she's out of danger now, she didn't have a lot of injuries, just a wounded head and a sprung leg and arm, she lost a lot of blood because of the head injury, the wound on her head was bad, so we had to stitch it with care, in all indications she has had a head injury before but thank God it didn't affect her too much... she was lucky she didn't have any brain damage or any complications, she will wake up soon but she'll be completely healed in about two weeks." I felt relieved; it was like I could finally breathe.
"Thank you doc," they were taking her to her room
"Well I'll be in my office if you need anything call me Jay" he said and then left, I rushed to her room, I couldn't wait to be with her. She was looking so pale, there was a bandage on my head and her leg was suspended due to the spring, she looked adorable even in this condition. I went close to her and gently touched her face, and held her hand in mine.
"I am sorry I failed to protect you my love, I failed after I promised u I won't let anyone hurt you, I was careless and stupid" I felt hot tears run down my cheeks, my heart hurt seeing her like this, this was the first time I was crying because of a woman, my woman really got me scared, I was scared I'll lose her, I wouldn't be able to live with myself.
Auroras POV
I woke up to a beeping sound, was I dead? Everything was white, I tried twirling my head but I felt numb after another try I finally succeeded, I saw that machine, the hospital machine, it was not the first time I woke up to it and it felt like I was reliving that painful night. I looked at the clock which was on the wall and it was 10pm, I turned to my left and saw that curly hair I loved so much, it was Jay, he was holding my hand, his white shirt was dirty, stained with blood which had dried up, was that my blood? I hope nothing happened to Jay... then memories of the accident rushed to my head like a flood and I couldn't help but let out a scream, it hurts... my head hurt... it was like a thousand people were hitting it, my sight became blur and I cried loud.
"Mom... dad... it hurts, my head hurts mama... wake up and help me mom" I cried loud
"Rora!! Rora!!, calm down babe, please calm down, HEY YOU OUT THERE, CALL THE DOCTOR ASAP." He screamed and I felt my head hurt even more. Few minutes later the doctor came rushing in with a nurse behind him. He injected something in my drip and in minutes I felt my eyes closing.
I woke up again to the beeping sound of the machine and Jay was still there, but this time with Leo and Shella, They looked sad and worried. I was looking at them at the other side of the room when Shella's eyes landed on me and she gasped loud.
"hey Hun, omg you're awake, you scared the shit out of me, God" she hugged me and I gave her a faint smile, I felt so weak. Jay looked like an orphan, my poor baby...the good news was that I wasn't feeling a lot of pain anymore and I could sit up.
"No baby don't shake, just lie down like that" Leo said and Jay scowled at him "what man, she's a baby now right?" I and Shella giggled
"She's my baby ok, mine alone" he came and pecked my lips "don't ever scare me like that babe" he said while wearing the diamond bracelet he got for me they must have surely taken it off during the surgery.
"how long have I been here?"
" two years'' Leo said while holding his chest like he was hurt " we have two children already" he said and received a scowl from Shella and Jay.. I just giggled loud "you see I made her laugh again" they just sighed and turned to me.
" it's been a lot of hours almost 24 hours hun, you needed a lot of rest" Shella said while walking to the table in the room and bringing food" the doctor said when u wake up you should eat, to get strength" I just nodded and sat up with the help of jay.
"we've been telling Jay to at list go home and change but he's only protesting, can u help us talk to him?" Leo said and earned another scowl from Jay,
" babe, I'll be fine Shella is here right, you can go home and change, they're right, I am better now and I'll be waiting for you,"
"are u sure my love?" he asked while kissing my cheek.
"Yeah... go on, but don't stay too much." I said and smiled at him, he just nodded and left with Leo
"Your man is something else Hun, he wanted to burn down this hospital because they didn't want him to get into the emergency room, did you know this was one of their properties?" I was shocked, how rich could these people be? I just shook my head, I smiled inwardly on the fact that he cared so much for me.
"Girl that man loves you a lot... you are really lucky and I am happy for you" she said and then smiled, I just smiled back at her. "I don't know if I should tell mom and dad, they'll be damn worried"
"Yeah me too, let's not worry them, I'll be fine" I finished eating and went back to sleep, I needed a lot of rest as the doctors said.
I woke up hours later to find my room full, there was jay and his parents, then Leo and Shella... when did Jay's parents come back?, I thought it'll be after a month? Did they come for me?.
"My Dear how are you? You are finally awake" Mrs. Vegas came and hugged me gently, making sure she doesn't hurt my arm.
"We're so happy you are fine, how are you feeling now dr?" Mr. Vegas asked with a worried expression, this man always had a stone face, or gave a warm smile which didn't last for long, but now he was worried about me? Who would have thought that one of the richest men in my country will be here taking care of me...
"I feel much better now ma'am and sir, u shouldn't have bordered coming, I feel bad for disrupting your work."
"don't worry my dear, Jay filled us in on everything, you are part of the family remember so you're very much important, we couldn't just seat back after hearing u got into another accident." Did she say another accident?
"another accident?" I asked with a demented look on my face.
"no my dear... well I am happy you are feeling better now" she said and then smiled, did she just avoid my question?.
We chatted for a while and Leo wouldn't stop making me laugh, it was around 9 pm when I told them to go and rest, it was late. Shella had a night shift and she will leave to freshen up and change before coming back. Jay refused to leave my side; he said he wasn't going home anytime soon. I just shrugged it off. Everyone left except Jay and we were just there staring at each other.
"You know you still look gorgeous with that bandage on your head? In this situation how do u manage to still make my heart flutter with your beauty Rora?" he winked at me... lmao, Jay was being cliché right and I couldn't help but laugh.
"I am a natural Jay" I winked back and he chucked
"You've had an accident before?" that caught me by surprise. "the doctor told me u you had an old head injury"
"Yeah I did when I was still very young" I didn't want to continue the story so I changed the topic. "Did you find the person who hit me?"
"yeah he's at the police station for interrogation, he's refusing to talk, he sure is loyal but I must make all of them Pay for touching you, for hurting you this bad." He was really angry and I could feel it. I just held his and to make him calm down." I am sorry about the office incident, Kayla said she wanted to talk about business and that's why I let her in, it was business and nothing more" jay said and I just smiled and nodded, I was happy he was explaining things to me, it meant I was very important to him.
"I trust ok, never forget that." He smirked.
