After leaving the gym I decided to celebrate our victory by hosting a camping trip. Playing around and cooking curry for my team has increased our bonds strongly. After we finished the camping Hearth evolved into a Swoobat and Twilight evolved into an Espeon which now safely turns me back into the psychic gym leader I was training to be. Back on the trail I met a Wobuffet that I appropriately called Jessie. We may not have a James or a Meowth but for now I think she can make due. During this time we had a battle against trainers to grow as a trainer. Nobody is getting my gym badge. I am so sorry.

On the way to the bridge I encounter 2 Team Yell grunts harassing a man over a bike. Seriously? Picking on a dude over a bike I thought you guys were just Marnie's weird fans. No matter, I was still at a major disadvantage due to my psychic powers not working on the dark anywho Chun-Li disposed of the team with Hearth helping against the 2nd member. After winning with no casualties the dude rewarded me with his bike as a thanks. While I felt a little bad about him losing his bike, if he is willing to give me it I don't see why I shouldn't use it.

While working my way through the bridge he appeared yet again. Hop challenged me to a battle yet again. Before challenging him I let him know about how dumb he was for not helping the poor man at the bridge when Team Yell was bothering him. Hop then brings up how he did not want to waste time and fight the second gym or risk having his pokemon killed due to Team Yell's foul odor. To which I said "fair". Which after we decided to duel

Hop begins by sending his Wooloo like usual where I send out Chun-Li. Chun-Li slows down Wooloo so they can finish Wooloo off with more bulldozing. He then proceeds to send out his Raboot. Funny how his starter evolved but mine did not. Speaking of which, Chun-Li did the usual and finished off Raboot with the use of the ground. Hop proceeds to send his ace Corvisquire to try and finish me off. Knowing it was an evolution of Rookidee judging by the design I could not use bulldoze so as a response I had Chun-Li use rock tomb which made the strategy the same as last time burying the Corvisquire to the piles of rock.

Before heading to the gym I decided to add some training to make sure I had a fighting chance. Nobody was too much stronger but the improvements were still there. As I went to the gym Rose and his client were talking about Rose wanting to see his fans but she wants Rose to focus on his work. To tell you the truth she seems a little cold new ice type gym anyone? Bede was surprisingly really nice to Rose though promising to assist him if anything happens. After Bede leaves Rose notices me and asks me to see him at the seafood restaurant after defeating the next gym to get to know me better. Honestly this seems like a scheme to find out about my weaknesses but sure I guess. While going to the gym it turns out the leader was not there and I was asked to pull her in. when I saw what seems to be a jersey I talked to the supposed leader who asked me if I was part of the gym challenge. I nodded and she noticed due to a familiar face being there. It seems her name is Nessa. She uses water types if I remembered correctly. She then went to the gym after she went fishing and I followed.

At the gym I had to change pipes. This makes sense due to the water theming but the different colors to go through did not cause much difficulty for me. Unfortunately unlike the grass gym where I had Hearth to cover for me since he had flying moves, I have nothing grass or electricity related to help combat this gym but if there is something I know it's that I should just keep my wits and figure out what to do. Battling through the water trainers was not too bad despite almost losing Hearth in the process. After solving the water puzzle and being reminded of what water levels were like the way to the leader was as clear as the ocean. So climbing the stairs I had my strategy to drain out her pokemon. Seeing Nessa she wished me luck which I nodded smugly.

She starts off with a Goldeen and I send out Hearth. Hoping Hearth would crit with his air cutter but failing, Goldeen was going quicker than him. Luckily though some nice hits helped Hearth kill off Goldeen. Nessa then sends Arrokuda out which probably could have killed Hearth but he had other plans with an air cutter. Drednaw was the last one so I brought in Chun-Li. We both dynamax and I let in a hit with my ground move where Drednaw used max darkness dealing lots of damage. I had to stall, which I succeeded in doing. After that knowing I am barely doing anything I had to switch to Jessie. Since I know Drednaw has a dark type move and psychic is weak to dark I let out a counter since I believed that even after a strong water type move Jessie can take it and noticing max darkness did physical damage. Moment of truth Drednaw uses bite and as it hit. Jessie took the hit and finished Drednaw off with a counter. Victory was mine tha plan worked thanks to the tactical side of me.

After the battle Nessa shook my hand and gave me her gym badge. As a reward for surviving the crashing waves I got another move which was whirlpool. Just like magical leaf I may not teach the move but that is ok as this opens more opportunities to make my team stronger and as a result expand my mind of new capabilities. Maybe I should meet the chairman at the seafood restaurant like he told me to.
