Prologue: Don't make me psi

Hello my name is Aedan, I was born and raised in the region of Hoenn. When I was younger I always wanted to become a gym leader for my region or if I moved somewhere else. Also when I was young I was considered to be incredibly smart, even smarter than older people in fact. It was to the point where everybody agreed that I fit the psychic type which gave the idea of me becoming a gym leader. My mother won a raffle for us to go to Galar which I decided to accept. Little did I know this was the start of a long journey.

When we arrived at Galar we landed in Postwick. When watching the tournament with a strange man and his Charizard. He was battling a man. I think his name was Raihan? With his strange tower-like Pokemon which made me decide that I just wanna get out there. Quietly walking out this kid and his Wooloo that is bashing the gate close to home talked about his brother coming over. I questioned what was going on with this weirdo but he seemed nice even had me see his mother. She seemed nice but I was probably bizarre to her. Going outside I see the man in the video I watched. His name was Leon who seemed really chill. Hop told me about him which surprised me and to his glee he gave us a starter. While I was going to use a different type I was grateful and decided to befriend the Sobble since he seemed lonely and reminded me a little of myself. Naming him Pond we decided to battle Hop with his Scorbunny. Who sucker punched me with his Wooloo. On the bright side, Pond saved us the trouble due to me knowing my type advantages. Hop wanted to have us do the gym challenge which I had no idea about. My mother was worried sick of me and we had to go home. Hop came to my house to tell us about the challenge himself. I tried to sneak out again but my mother caught me. We had an argument about me leaving to see what this challenge is all about. Claiming it was dangerous I had to come back with talking about how Pond may be able to protect me. She reluctantly agreed to have me go but wanted me to avoid any alleyways at least. Despite being 14 years old I had many capabilities anyways which helped with my awareness. We decided to try and save Wooloo from whatever happened to it. We met a wolf who I falsely accused of eating the sheep.The wolf howled us away into a fog which had me and Hop pass out. Leon woke us up with his loud voice because he assumed we were dead. Turns out Charizard had the Wooloo protected which gave us a sigh of relief. We went over to the Magnolia lab where we met Sonia and her dog. Cute dog by the way but back on track. Turns out it was called a Yamper as Leon mentions. He also mentions Sonia is great at cooking which honestly I believed him. She also goes up to me and asks if I know anything about Pokemon. To which I nodded. She then hands me a Pokedex which I showed my gratitude. After that Hop takes me over to the Pokemon center. We also have these back in Hoenn so nothing is too different. Surprisingly there is also a cafe which sounds like a nice place to chill. He asked if I had been to one before to which I nodded. He didn't explain anything which honestly I probably didn't need any explanation. We go over to professor Magnolia's house but first Leon teaches us how to even catch Pokemon in the first place. I paid attention because I wanted to become a gym leader right? After the lesson he gives us Pokeballs to catch some as long as we caught a lot. He should lower his expectations since I remembered a law stating that you are only allowed to catch one Pokemon per route, cave, or forest. Probably to protect the wildlife there which is weird but fine. Probably to Leon's dismay I caught nothing but he didn't know that even after we met again. Hop tries to get Professor Magnolia to have Leon endorse us for the challenge which increased my interest. He agreed on the condition that we have an interesting battle. I punched Hop in the face as a response and we started throwing hands. Leon says "A Pokemon battle guys". We went outside and did our battle. Pond swept Hop's team without any effort. Leon seemed reluctant as the battle admittedly was not interesting at all. But most likely to make Hop happy he gave us the endorsement which made me happy too. Some stars fall out of the sky which Hop took both. He then mentions there were 2 which he gave me one. I was glad otherwise I would have to punch him in the face again. Magnolia mentions that we should give them to her for research purposes and you know I love me some science so I gave mine. Hop then whispers to Leon "This guy's weird" where Leon whispers "Don't be rude Hop as much as you may be right. Sonia then comes home and praises us for getting endorsed. Hop was excited and thanked her where I gave a more nervous "Thank you". Sonia cooks curry for us and we then scoot off to bed.

The next morning Hop was pumped for his journey and I smiled as I am too albeit a nervous smile. Magnolia gives us 2 dynamax bands. Sweet now I can play Gen 8 ubers. Hop smiled and Magnolia praises his determination was he wants to work hard for his goal as I thank her for her work and quietly walked off thinking about my tactics. While I am still not the gym leader I wanna be yet I think I will make it there soon enough as I head to the station.
