Chapter 5 Confronting the stalker

On my way out of the stadium Sonia talks to me about the mural in the city. As I was considering the idea of entering we heard a massive bang which came from the mural. She was concerned about what may have happened as she ran off to make sure it was ok. After the scenario my sister proceeds to call me about how my journey is going. I proceed to mention everything that happened and she was shocked to hear me standing up to my mother and mentioning how I didn't want to end up spending time as a shut-in. She was not surprised at all to hear about me using psychic types as she knew about my knowledge and the brainpower of psychics compliments me pretty well.

As I chose to heal my team first in case of an emergency it made me consider the possibilities. When walking up to the mural there was a guy with purple clothes and white hair. This immediately made me realize it was Bede himself. But for some reason there was a metal elephant with him too. Did he finally accept that I would be better as a psychic than he is? Anyways I came up to him as he started talking about getting the wishing stars for the chairman. This made me question the entire purpose of the plan but that was not going to stop me from protecting the mural so I fought him.

He starts off with his Duosion as I bring Chun-Li to the ring. Chun-Li then slams Duosion to the ground which was enough to put it down; it seems like its evolution could not be useful enough to stand a chance. Bede then sends out his Hattrem which was mirror coated by Jessie and her constant shielding. Seems like the Gothita also changed into a Gothorita and it tried to put our guards down which failed horribly. Fake crying has never felt so pathetic as Jessie does some mirror coating and Hearth pulls an air slash to finish the goth off. To try and finish me off Bede sends his Ponyta where I bring back Chun-Li burying the horse into the ground which gives us the win.

Bede was seen crying as he thought Duosion and Gothorita were dead. However, unlike Hop he chose to call the hospital to make sure they are ok instead of immediately burying them despite the bleeding from Gothorita. Before I could apologize I was interrupted by Chairman Rose and Oleana. Oleana scolds Bede for trying to destroy the mural as Rose chooses to not only disqualify Bede from the championship but also disown him. As Bede pleads to change his mind, Rose mentions how he adopted Bede and tried to give him some success by sending him to trainer school only to disappoint him with the action he was planning. Sending him to the Budew Inn while he waits for Rose and Oleana to think about what to do with him.

Rose then apologizes to me and Sonia and leaves us to our deed. Sonia then thinks about how Bede had no parents showing sympathy for him as I did the same. I then show remorse for what I did towards his Duosion and Gothorita as that is not what I wanted to happen. The mural was destroyed to Sonia's dismay however, we saw a statue of two wolves with a sword and a shield. We then have a discussion about how the statue could help bring up the heroes from the past where we theorized that the sword is a Pokemon though I also believed the shield could be one too. We proceed to talk about the statue for a couple more minutes until Sonia walks off.

Later I decided to call Hop. Hop picks up and asks "Aedan what do you want?" I then proceed to talk about how Bede was disqualified from the championship. Hop then whispers to me "Good. Now did you dispose of the body yet? If not, I could teach you how." I then said "Bede isn't dead, the chairman just disqualified and disowned him." Hop seemed disappointed but he accepted it where he said "On the bright side, less people to worry about. We may be able to battle our brother in the finals now. Goodbye Aedan I shall see you soon." What does he mean by "I'll see you soon."? Is he trying to go after me next? Hopefully not because I will destroy his team next.

Anyways after leaving the city I went into the Glimwood Tangle. The sights were beautiful I should tell you it's a nice wooded area where there was lots of shining mushrooms. Don't worry I did not eat a single mushroom not risking the effects of them. Anyways, I caught an Indeedee that I called Makoto which took forever to catch even by putting it to sleep which I do not know how that is possible but hey logic never works sometimes. After catching the Indeedee I was knocked out and put into the next city. Luckily I woke up some time later as I was being dragged somewhere. Do not want to know but I probably would have been lost for a long time. Funny how she was never mentioned but she was stalking me for a while. After Nessa's gym she came around a few times and it was weird but probably nobody would believe me anyways if I said something. Marnie walks up to me and talks about the challenge being a bit difficult but she was able to succeed. To be fair she almost exclusively uses dark types which is not a good type against fairies. She also gives me her league card which I thanked her for and got ready to step into the ring

It seems that Opal's goal was to find a new fairy gym leader to pass her torch to and told me to treat it as such. Her challenge was literally just a quiz inside battles. The challenge was not too bad as I played with the brain a little. Hers specifically due to mind reading which is how I was capable of responding to others plans during the battles pre Opal though, there seemed to be a noticeable amount of trying to let my guard down which constantly fails thanks to the human mind being too complex.

After taking care of Opal's gym trainers, it was time for the battle. She mentions that I am doing well but there is not enough pink which is strange because I tend to have a lot of pink for my outfit. To be fair though I had to switch to the basic uniform which is why there is little pink despite my wear contradicting that.

As the battle starts she begins with her Weezing and I bring Chun-Li. The first thing I do is make sure to explode the toxic duo with my psychic abilities. After this she sends out Mawile which threw me out of left field with a crunch as I slowed it down by bulldozing anyways, ending it a little swiftly. She then tries to throw me off by asking me her favorite color. Knowing the capability of a fairy's tricks and her usage of magic I answered purple to save my skin from lowering stats. She proceeds to send Togekiss, who I had to throw rocks at to take down while having Chun-Li heal from the pain. It was slow but in the end it was worth it as I had high health and tons of defense before she sent Alcremie. She gigantamaxes Alcremie and it looks so delicious like I could not resist the urge to swallow parts of it. Chun-Li dynamaxes and uses the mindstorm to set up a bizarre terrain where Alcremie kept healing itself however the strength of my mind was able to overcome the healing finishing off her entire team.

After the battle, Opal claimed that I do not fit the bill to be a fairy type gym leader. I respond with "I know, I want to be a psychic type gym leader not a fairy type gym leader as it fits me better." Opal then gives me her badge and lets me have the ability to teach draining kiss. That is nice so if I have something defensive it can work to heal the pokemon and deal damage which helps to expand the possibilities of my kit. She also gives me a new uniform in case I change my mind about being a psychic and if I wanted to become a fairy type instead, I thanked her and went on with the challenge.
