Chapter 38: Ghost Story

The next day Aria, Lloyd, and Morro left the castle to start their ghost hunting. Morro stopped and looked out towards the once ruined town of Del. Lloyd turned and waved to some of Chen's old occultists that were fixing up houses. They no longer had their tattoos and were in normal clothes.

"You're.. fixing the town?" Morro asks "You even have people.. they're not originally from here are they?"

"Yeah, no they're not," Lloyd responds "see not all of Master Chen's followers got dragged into the Cursed Realm. They ended up here and begged us to keep them safe. If we didn't they would've ended up in jail back in Ninjago."

"Figured they would make good citizens." Aria smiles "A kingdom of no good villains, ruled by a rumored tyrant, right?"

"It's a beautiful sight," Morro responds as he turns back to the two "when the rebellion happened I was away on a special mission. I returned once I heard the news, the town was in ruins and I saw my home destroyed. I never recovered from it."

"What did you do after?" Aria asks.

"I was young and didn't have anywhere to go," Morro responds "I was taken in by the old man Wu who taught me to use my elemental powers better."

"Wu was an old man already?" Lloyd questions "I thought we ruled Del around the time of the war between the First Spinjitzu Master and the Overlord?"

"What?" Morro raised his eyebrow "Who told you that? It was during the second war."

"Looks like we got more research to do," Aria sighs.

"Let's just focus on first things first." Lloyd says

The two head to Ninjago City with Morro, where they stood outside the museum.

"Now you remember the plan right?" Morro asks.

"Yeah, but are you really ok with going alone right now?" Lloyd questions.

"Oh yeah, possession is really easy." Morro responds "It's the only way to find the tomb before him."

"You'll be seen as a villain though." Aria points out.

"I've always been a villain," Morro chuckles "After all, I served a tyrant."

Aria smiles as Morro heads inside the museum. The plan was to posses Reika after Morro uses a guard to send a distress call. In order for him to summon more help for them, and so he could use his elemental powers to their full extent.

Aria and Lloyd just had to wait for him. After he succeeded, they had to get Wu's staff to find the tomb before the rebel leader's ghost. Time had passed and no sight of Morro at their meeting place.

"You think he's ok in there?" Lloyd asks

"Who knows," Aria sighs

Misako scoops tea leaves in a bag and hands it to a customer "I added a little something extra"

"Sensei!"

"It's an emergency!"

"We need you!"

"It's important!"

Misako looked outside "Boys, not so loud. Can't you see we have our first customer?"

"Where's Wu?" Jay whispers to Misako

Wu comes up the stairs

"Sensei!" Kai shouts

"Yes?" Wu asks

"We were getting the word out..."

"...and there was this wind..."

"...and our powers disappeared"
