Chapter 79: A Gleam in the Dark

"Where are you off to child?" the Omega asks.

Aria approached the group of Oni warriors who were preparing to fight off the realm's defenders.

"Like you said, this much movement isn't good for the little one." Aria smiles "I'm off to find his father, the protector's sent him off to prison."

"There will be a new home for you when you return," the Omega tells her "I can't wait to meet the guy."

"Right," Aria replies.

"You're not coming with us?!" Suromi pouts as he takes off his mask "I was ready to show off my skills."

"I'm sure there will be another time," Aria responds "you won't lose to those ninjas, will you?"

"Never," Suromi replies as he puts his Oni mask back on and powers up.

"We will see each other again," Aria turns to the Omega.

"Yes, we will." the Omega turns to the army "We're off!"

The army began to move out as Aria turned and headed towards the prison.

"Say hi to mother for me," Aria chuckles as she made her way through the city "Dear grandmother."

At the Monastery, after distributing the newly made golden weapons, the monks warn of the Oni's arrival. The Ninja, Wu, Faith, and Lord Garmadon unite to hold off The Omega's Oni legions.

"No matter what happens Ninja," Kai says "We fight to protect this realm, each other, and for Cole."

The ninja nod in agreement as they head down the steps to face the Oni. With that, a battle begins outside the monastery, with the Oni steadily overwhelming the Ninja and their allies until Cole returns in the Earth Driller. Overjoyed by his return, the Ninja gain a second wind and continue the battle.

To fight The Omega, Garmadon embraces his full Oni side and takes him on, though he's still overpowered.

"You are Oni" the Omega whacks Garmadon away "But only in form. In your heart, I sense uncertainty and doubt." she strikes the staff at him, flying him back up the steps. "Part of you longs to understand these pitiful beings." The Oni walks up to Garmadon "To be one of them. Your hopes weaken you." she whacks Garmadon again. 

Garmadon loses his Oni form, and lies on the steps, weakened. The Omega throws her power at him. It hits him against the monastery doors.

"Sensei!" Reika runs over to him. She helps Garmadon up as the Oni push the ninja back towards the monastery. "Fall back! Everyone, fall back now!"

The Ninja, Faith, and Master Wu run back to the monastery.

Nya kicks an Oni before leaving "Copy that!"

The Oni chase after the Ninja who close the doors behind them. Cole uses his Lava Arm to put up the barricade on the door. Faith and P.I.X.A.L. take up a stance in front of the citizens. The door rattles, under the banging of the Oni.

"That's not going to last forever" Cole says.

Cole's last word echoes in Jay's mind as he glances at Nya "Nya" he turns to her and takes off his hood "I have to ask you something important."

"What? Now?" Nya questions as she throws off her hood.

"Yes, now" Jay gets down on one knee, puts his nunchucks on the ground, inhales slowly, and starts talking rapidly. The rest of the Ninja and Master Wu turn to look at him.

"Nya, you make me so happy everyday" Jay says, Nya shakes her head and stares at Jay, confused "When we're not together, I miss you so much that it feels like part of me is missing" Pulls out the token, and splits it in half, holding one half out to her "Will you be my Yang?"
