Time had passed, and Layla grew to adapt to her new home. Firstborne eventually warmed up to her a bit and allowed her to go outside with the young dragons. Layla spent her days playing with the young dragons right outside the nest as they awaited for Svern and his squad to return from battle.

They heard a roar echo through the sky, the young dragons became excited and looked up to the sky. They jumped around and made little squeaky roars in response before Firstborne roared back the loudest. Layla looked up towards the sky as a large black dragon came into view with his squad behind him.

"Svern!" Layla calls out excitedly as she raised her hand to the sky.

The dragons began landing and their children ran to greet their parents. Layla stood still as Svern came down and landed in front of her.

"Welcome home," Layla smiles.

Svern lowered his head and Layla touched her forehead to his. Firstborne stood behind Layla as she watched the two. Svern raised his head to look at his mother.

"How did it go?" Firstborne asks.

"Clean sweep," Svern replies.

"Good..." Firstborne replies before looking down at Layla. "I hope you're still taking my advice. Svern"

"Mother," Svern puffs smoke out "leave it alone."

"I only wish for you not to go through the same heartbreak I did," Firstborne responds.

Svern uses his nose to push Layla towards the nest. Layla began walking to their room with Svern behind her.

"I do not meddle in your affairs mother," Svern says "do not meddle in mine."

Firstborne looks back at the other dragons as Svern and Layla return to their room where Svern transforms back into his human form. Layla immediately hugs him and he returns the hug.

"Was it hard?" Layla questions worriedly "Did you get hurt?"

"I'm perfectly fine my love," Svern replies as he puts his hand on her cheek "just.. tired."

"Do you wanna see what I worked on while you were gone?" Layla asks excitedly "Will that cheer you up?"

"Very much so," Svern smiles.

Layla turns away from him and lifts her hands in the air. Gold particles surround the room before forming a sphere and Layla puts her hands to her side.

"Let's go," Layla grabs his hand.

Svern and Layla walk into the sphere and they were suddenly in a whole different world. They were in a grassy field that radiated light with green trees. Nothing but a small field and no vision of their old world.

"It's still small, but the realm is ever expanding." Layla tells him with a gleam in her eyes.

"That's an Oni of creation for ya," Svern chuckles as he puts his hand atop her head "it's beautiful, just like you."

Svern turns and looks at the sky.

"We should leave now before I ruin it," Svern says.

"You wouldn't ruin it," Layla pouts "it's not complete without you."

"My darkness is not meant for a world as pure as this one Layla," Svern tells her with a sad look "darkness will only lead to disaster."
