Noah POV

This morning I woke up early with Shelly in my arms. Her head resting on my chest and her hand on my abdomen as close to me as she can be while sleeping. I dug my nose into her hair as I breathed in the smell of her shampoo, letting one of my hands gently caress her arm. I told myself that not so long ago, I was trying to reason with myself that maybe I will never again experience that happiness of waking up next to her. How many nights have I dreamed of her and then be struck by the reality of her absence when morning arrived? But not today, she was definitely there in my arms and I wanted to make the most of her presence. I let myself close my eyes to enjoy it a little more.

I woke up again a few hours later with the sensation of Shelly sowing a trail of kisses from my neck to my chest. I smiled and kept my eyes closed as I said:
- I'm scared to wake up and realize you're not there!
- Not this morning," she said, with a laugh in her voice, "Are you consenting?
- More than willing," I told her as I opened my eyes and threw her onto her back. "In fact, I think I'm going to actively participate by starting where I left off yesterday morning." I said, bringing her hands above her head and starting to sow a trail of kisses down her neck as I made my way to her chest.

I saw her relax and enjoy my exploration of her body. I paused for a few moments to say to her:
- And this morning, I'm not stopping!" I said, winking at her.

The sexy look she gave me at that moment, only increased my desire for her...

A few hours later, showered and dressed, we were in the kitchen making breakfast. I smiled to myself at the thought that it was as if nothing had happened. The vibe between Elle and I was the same as our first summer at the beach house. I had missed this complicity and gave me hope for better days.

On the other hand, one of the noticeable differences, was Elle who cooks and really good too! I was skeptical when she told me she'd make breakfast, knowing her cooking skills in high school. I was so surprised to see on my plate a thin crêpe stuffed with pears flambéed with colds. Pure and simple delicacy!

After breakfast and dishes, we got ready for the beach. We walked along the shore for a few hours. The atmosphere between Elle and I was so different from what it was yesterday. We walked the beach hand in hand, laughter dotting our discussions. Sometimes it was a memory from our childhood! Sometimes it was a goofy fling of the last 6 years. Last week when Elle told me anecdotes from her trip to Africa, it meant to me the times when I was away from her and other guys were close to her. Today, I realize that these experiences have shaped the wonderful woman next to me and I feel blessed to be able to hear and understand the effect these experiences have had on her.

Back home from the beach, I pulled out the surfboards from our childhood. It was hilarious to see Elle trying to surf like we did when we were young. Her legendary clumsiness has always made the sport a challenge for her. I had to fish her out of the water a couple of times. But like it's going to bother me.

We came home for lunch time where Elle amazed me again with her cooking skills.

After lunch, we laze on the sun loungers around the pool avoiding the crowds on the beach.

In the middle of the afternoon, I turned to her when an idea crossed my mind:
- Would you like a drink at the beach bar?
- Are you going to allow me to take anything other than coke?
- As long as you remain responsible for your drinking, Dr. Evans.
- Thank you, Master. Flynn, I assure you that I am not on call today.
- I hope so!" I said, helping her to her feet and dragging her to the beach, hand in hand to the familiar bar near the Santa Monica Pier.

Nothing had changed. The decoration was the same. We sat down at the bar to order our drink. Elle ordered a strawberry daikiri and I ordered a cold and coke.
- It feels weird to be here after all this time. It's like yesterday and at the same time it's been an eternity," she said, playing with the straw of her daikiri.
- That's right! I remember the last time we were here together. It was the night I told you that Chloe was coming to the Beach house and that you told me about Marco's involvement in the Mario Kart race. " I said, wrapping my arm around her shoulders.
- Let's just say we weren't so glued when we ate our drink that night." Elle said, laughing softly.
- Did you believe me at the time, that Chloe was just a friend?" I asked her as I wrapped a now curly strand of her hair around my finger while letting my gaze look into her eyes.
