"I want to go home."

Zeus looked up from his laptop, a pair of ray-bans perched upon the bridge of his nose, a dark look shadowing his features. He leaned back in his armchair, eyes fixated on his mate who stood before him, nervously shifting her weight from one foot to the other. A sigh escaped his lips, slender fingers reaching up to remove his glasses and place them on his desk.

His gaze moved up and down his mate's body, her long pale hair tied up into a high ponytail, dressed in a pair of leggings and a flannel top that reached mid thigh, her feet enclosed in a pair of trainer socks. Her cheeks were flushed, her left hand playing with the material of her shirt; a habit Zeus had noticed was only visible whenever she was nervous.

"I've told you, you can't go back," He spoke gruffly, his wolf not liking the idea that their mate wanted to leave. "You belong here, Anya."

The girl narrowed her eyes, a disappointed look on her face as she looked at the ground. "I just wanted to see my parents." Her fist tightened, her eyes closing momentarily to stop herself from crying.

He's trying to protect you. Anya mentally told her wolf to shut up.

Zeus sighed again, "They know where you are. They can come and see you any-time."

Anya stared at him, her mouth unable to voice the words that were buried deep inside her head. Zeus watched her as she bit her lip, a sorrowful look on her face. His eyes flickered down to her hands that had balled into fists, her knuckles white.

"I said no, Anya."

"It's been weeks!" Anya shouted, jumping at the sound of her own voice. Her emotions were haywire, anger building up inside of her; all she wanted was to go see her home. "Please! Zeus-"

"THAT'S ENOUGH!"

Zeus stood from his seat, furious, his eyes clouded black as he glared down at his mate who flinched at his tone of voice. He wanted to comfort her, but his wolf was angry at her defiance. They remained silent, until Anya whispered, "You can't keep me prisoner here."

A growl escaping him, Zeus slammed a hand on his desk, panting as he tried to calm his wolf who scratched at the surface of his skin. "I AM THE ALPHA!" Anya whimpered, taking a step away from him, the movement did not go unnoticed by her mate. Zeus walked around his desk, brushing past the terrified Anya, before wrenching the office door open. "Your wolf will do well to remember that," He murmured darkly.

Anya turned on her heel, and without looking at her mate, she left the office, storming past the curious wolves who had paused to listen to the argument. However, with one glare from their Luna, they busied themselves, hurriedly leaving the scene. As Anya disappeared from the pack house, Hercules barged into his brother's office, noticing the thunderous man who was sat back at his desk. shutting the door behind him, Hercules sat opposite his brother, watching his chest heave as he panted, his jaw clenched tight, eyebrows pulled into a frown. "That was uncalled for, you know?"

Zeus' head snapped up to narrow his eyes at his brother. "She's mine. Not yours." Hercules rolled his pale orbs, crossing his arms over his chest as he rose an eyebrow.

"Do you think she wants to be yours right now?"

Zeus growled at the thought, his hands grasping the table so tightly that for a moment, Hercules braced himself for the piece of wood that would be flying towards his head. His hand flew out, catching the broken splint, a grunt escaping his lips as the impact of the wood left his hand feeling as if it were on fire, before he let go of it, dropping it to the ground. "Next time it'll be your head," Zeus spat, a small growl rumbling from deep within his chest. Hercules wiped a hand over his face, nodding his head.
