"i really want to murder you, but i can't."

those words easily slipped right off your tongue as your gaze fixated on sunday's. the angel who always came around by hell, his grayish-blue hair spilling over his shoulders,. strangely, whenever you guys were going at it, he never hid his eyes behind those wings.
you never pondered the thought of it, as all that mattered in that moment was to simply piss him off as much as you could. it was always obvious to everyone in heaven and hell, even the royals, that you absolutely detest him. many elders say that if you were to pick one option, he would pick the other just out of spite.

unfortunately for you, you were on the judgement of the infernalis court, meaning you were one of the higher-up demons, and sunday was on the celestial court. this meant that you both had to visit meetings often, which made you both see each other.

there are some things that, when you first met him, made you dislike him. in long terms, he presents himself as a born leader and a fair judge, and the mere thought of justice for him is a must. but under his facade, he loved power, manipulating people for his own benefit and to affect their own actions. it is said that the reason his appearance is not pure white like that of the other angels is because of his ill-willed thoughts and unjust nature.

you, however, were carefree and insouciant, juxtaposed to him. you are confident, charismatic, and self-assured. you have a manipulative streak and enjoy using your charm to get what you want. you enjoy a challenge and are always looking for excitement and adventure. you are not afraid to take risks and do not care about the consequences. you are not concerned with following rules or guidelines, and you love to break them. despite your seemingly selfish and reckless nature, you are a skilled talker and know how to persuade people of your will.

there is one thing in common between you both, though.

when it comes to manipulation, both of you share a similar trait, as you both have an understanding of how to use your words and actions to persuade and control other people. both of you have the ability to make others believe what they want and have a strong desire to get your way. while sunday uses manipulation to serve a sense of justice and false security, you use your own charisma and influence to twist things in your favor.

in short, he was a control freak and you were the type of person to do anything you wanted.

so, you expected him to be staring you down like a hungry hawk, like he is doing now. you just kept that lazy smirk on your face, completely ignoring his golden gaze. he hated you, and you knew why. you knew his little secret, and sunday despised you for that, as you always had leverage against him.

the royal court (so good name, right) was magnificent. one half of the large room was adorned with shimmering gold and crystal, reflecting the purity and lightness of the heavenly realm, while the other half was coated in dark shades of fiery red and orange, representing the fiery depths of the infernal realm.

at the center of the courtroom was a massive table adorned with elaborate and intricate carvings of both angelic and demonic symbols, serving as the place where the beings from both realms would sit and vote. the judge's podium was all intricately carved with designs from both sides, and it looked more like a ballroom than a courtroom. the room was illuminated with the light of angelic fire and the flames of infernal pits and the air was filled with the scent of incense and the fumes of sulfur, creating a unique atmosphere that was both awe-inspiring and hauntingly captivating.

the heaven's section of the chamber was bright and airy, with high ceilings adorned with intricate carvings that featured images of angels and golden flames. the walls were an intricately woven mixture of marble and gold, with gold accents and gold trim throughout. the floor was a large, polished marble surface that had intricate designs and symbols of heaven etched into it, with a central path of gold flecks running down the middle. in the center of the chamber was an enormous table made of gold and crystal, with golden chairs for the angels and heavenly beings to sit on while they made their decisions. the entire area exuded an air of calm and serenity, the perfect environment for the heavenly beings to make their judgments.

the hell's section of the chamber was as impressive as the heavenly section, but in its own way. it was a dark and mysterious space, with red and black marble walls and accents throughout. the floor was made of highly reflective black marble, almost like a shiny mirror, that reflected the light from the fiery pits that surrounded it. the ceiling was adorned with images of demons and fire, and the air was filled with the scent of sulfur and smoke, giving the whole area a unique and almost otherworldly feel. the table at the center of the room was a massive black marble structure with demonic symbols carved into it. the chairs were made of a dark wood that almost seemed to be alive, like it was breathing. the whole area had a sense of elegance and beauty, despite being in the realm of the damned.

soon, after a bit of bickering between you two, the royal judge banged the gavel and his voice pierced through the air. even if he didn't look as impressive as the demons and angels, his voice had the irony of a politician and the order of a military commander. in this world, not many are what they seem to be.

"i have assigned tasks to many of you," he said, his gaze fixated on the list of groups. "2 per group. i will read them out now."
he did. the list was very long, and you had anticipated it, but there it was.

"[name] and sunday." the royal judge's eyes briefly met yours (and sunday's) before continuing on. you could practically feel sunday's icy glare burning into your skin. you just shot him back, and he just smirked at you.

after what felt like an eternity, the judge had finished his speech and everyone was departing to meet their partners. you flew quickly into the discussion tables in the middle of the room. sunday met you there, and you both just sat for a few seconds, staring at each other, before you sighed.

"why is it always this fool?" you sigh. this was going to be a long task.
