32. These distances

Ohm cast a playful glance at his boyfriend who was busy in the kitchen, preparing a fruit platter for both of them and then at the iPad in his hand.

The iPad belonged to Fluke but Ohm had complete access to it as Fluke never kept his passwords secret from Ohm. Both of them shared passwords.

Ohm quickly connected his Airdopes to the iPad. He opened the mp3 folder called 'These Distances'. The slow soothing music started playing. He knew the song was his boyfriend's new single but he was really eager to hear it as the latter had been gatekeeping the song from him all this while.

These distances
The distances between our paths
Distances between our eyes
Distances between companions
May all the distances, vanish

Ohm subconsciously started tapping his fingers against the handrest as the beat of the music started captivating him. 

Why is someone close, someone far
Why, Nobody knows here

Am I moving closer or further away
I don’t know where I am

There was a time
In the empty streets

Ohm could feel the pain in his heart as he listened to the lyrics and his boyfriend's melodious voice. Fluke's voice was very expressive and had the ability to make the listeners go through the emotions he wanted them to.

Sometimes this too happened,
Like it happened just now
That I saw you in everyone

These distances makes me closer to you
These distances torture me
These distances make me long for you
May all the distances, vanish

Fluke walked out of the kitchen, carrying the fruit platter. His eyes fell on his iPad that was in Ohm's hands and then on his boyfriend's face that had a proud smile decorating it. He instantly realised what was going on.

"P' Ohm, I told you not to do that!" Fluke placed the fruit platter on the coffee table and rushed over to his boyfriend's side.

Ohm who had anticipated his boyfriend's reaction, sprung up on his feet, raising the iPad higher.

I wanted any distance between us

"P' Ohm, hand it over!" Fluke said trying to reach out at the iPad his tall boyfriend was holding over head.

Now only the distance remains
It becomes a discomfort and tells me
May our Love turn young again
Let the distances between us disappear
The distances that feels strange
Let distances that should move away
May all the distances, vanish

"Noo, have I ever told you that you look very cute when you are angry? Just like a black-footed cat, small but fierce?" Ohm stole a kiss on his boyfriend's cheek, teasing him.

Fluke glared at Ohm for a second before going back to tugging the latter's sleeves to lower the raised hand.

Ohm shifted the iPad from the hand Fluke almost lowered to the other hand.

"P' Ohm!" Fluke screamed in irritation. His little face was scrunched clearly showing his displeasure. 

"Alright. Alright. Here you go." Ohm handed the iPad back to his boyfriend as the song had ended.

Fluke didn't look any better even after having gotten the iPad back.

Ohm understood that he had successfully pissed off his boyfriend. He grabbed the latter by the waist and made him sit in between his legs. "Baby?"
