Sammy stood outside the dressing room, hypnotizing herself. "You are not going to say anything about P' Boun. You are not going to say anything about P' Boun."
Fluke patiently waited a few steps away from her.
She turned to look at him and he gestured for her to go ahead with it. She nodded and opened the door dressing room with her eyes tightly shut.
Hearing no noise from outside she opened one eye to peek at the scene in front of her.
Sammy saw that Prem was fast asleep on the chair with his head resting on the table. There were a few books scattered on the table.
She picked up the notebook lying right next to his face. Her eyes widened as she flipped through the contents of the book.
Scribbled on the book, were the things one should care for around a pregnant woman. There were things noted down point by point. Some important ones were underlined or highlighted. Some pages had page markers on them emphasizing the content of the page.
Her eyes fluttered as they moved from the book to its sleeping owner.
She knew that Prem was never a good student. He never made notes. One could see the effort he had put into finding all this information for her. She could only imagine the number of books he had to go through to almost fill the thick notebook. Even her husband hasn't gone this far for their first pregnancy.
"Duffer" She muttered as tears flowed down uncontrollably.
She could clearly see the traces of dark circles under his eyes that could barely be hidden by makeup. She felt her heartache at the thought that he had spent his little free time learning more about pregnancy so that he could take care of her.
Sulking heavily, she kicked the leg of the chair on which Prem was sitting.
Prem jumped up, startled. He was surprised to see Sammy right next to him. He quickly hid the notebook behind his back as if it was a reflex.
Sammy hugged him without a word, sniffling her snort.
This caught Prem off guard. He stood there not knowing what was going on. Before he went to sleep, she was still giving him a cold shoulder and now when he woke up, suddenly she was hugging him.
"Hug me back, you idiot" A confused Prem heard her say.
He did what he was told to.
Fluke crossed his hands across his chest and leaned against the door frame with a smile as he watched the heartwarming scene unfold.
Prem wiggled his brows at Fluke, asking him what had happened.
Fluke simply shrugged and smiled.
"I hate you so much, you idiot." Sammy looked at Prem with glossy eyes "You are the worst" She buried her face in his chest.
Question marks were flying around Prem's head.
Fluke chuckled and walked in "Alright. The break is going to end in a few minutes. Let's eat our lunch, shall we?" He handed his handkerchief to Sammy whose face was covered with tears and snort "And he might need a change of clothes."
Prem looked down at his costume. The white university uniform shirt was tainted by Sammy's makeup. Horror filled his face. "I swear Sammy. Next time if you are not buying waterproof makeup, don't even try to hug me."
He was so sure that the stylist was going to yell at him for the makeup stain.
Sammy stuck her tongue at him.
"Don't worry, I am sure that they have a few of these shirts in your size" Fluke tried to assure him.
Prem pouted looking at the stained white shirt.
