Y/n's POV

You had walked out of the room and decided to just go for a walk, you realised you had no phone but didn't care. Your family had died almost 2 years ago in a car crash on their way to watch one of your games, you were 20 at the time and still to this day blame yourself because if they weren't going to your game they wouldn't be dead. Their anniversary was so soon and when you heard about Georgia and Esme an overwhelming feeling of loneliness hit you, over the past few weeks you had really began to like Leah but you didn't know how she felt about you, all you wanted was to feel loved again. You went for a walk but ended up where you always do when your feeling like shit, the pitch. There was a few balls out so you decided to get one and start kicking about, you smashed it against the walls of the 3G letting out all your anger and sadness, tears began streaming down but you couldn't help it. You didn't notice but someone had seen you and came down to the pitch, it was Leah.
"Hey kid"
She walked up to you, her deep blue eyes staring into your soul, you didn't have to say anything she just held her arms out and you melted into her arms. You both laid down against the fence watching the sunset
"I'm sorry I walked off"
You began feeling horrible for leaving for multiple hours
"Shh don't be I've kinda worked out what's wrong with you"
You let out a sigh of relief and cried, why did you feel so safe with her? You hadn't felt like this since you were with your ex so it felt really strange, Leah stroked your hair and circled your back with her finger calming you down as you cuddled into her chest
"Why do you care le?"
"Because I care about you"
Leah replied almost instantly
"But you've only known me for a few months"
Leah paused and took a second to think about what she was going to say
"A few months with you feels like 3 years"
You tightened your grip around her waist again knowing you were safe with her, you sat in silence for a while but we're comforted by each other's silence, it was like the world stopped when you were with her
"Y/n can I ask you something?"
"yeah?"
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
You shot up now sitting on leahs lap and just looked at her in disbelief, had Leah really just asked you that?
"Am I gonna get an answer instead of really intense eye contact kid?"
Leah said making herself giggle
"Yes yes yes!"
You replied kissing her lips softly, but lovingly
"Well then my love I think we should go inside you've not eaten in like 10 hours"
Leah picked you up bridal style and began carrying you inside.
"I know this week gonna be tough but we'll get through it"
Leah said, what was she on about?
"what do you mean?"
"I know their anniversary is this week"
Shit. You didn't want Leah to know, not because you want to hide it but because you didn't want to be a bother, by this point you were back on your feet walking to your room, you heart and eyes were heavy though so you couldn't really form a sentence
"oh yeah that"
You said holding back tears and swallowing the lump in your throat you needed to focus on the games not your feelings
