Chapter 20 - You're Gonna Go Far

The game soon kicked off and the ball stayed in the middle for the first 10 minutes giving you few chances to even touch the ball, you were struggling to find the connection until Leah got the ball and saw you were completely open so she kicked the ball across the pitch to you where you passed to Fran who got some height on the ball making it possible for you bicycle kick it into the top corner, you backwards rolled at stood up looking in disbelief like the rest of the statium until it erupted and you all set off celebrating, you saw Leah jump into your arms and caught her
"I'm so fucking proud of you Y/n!"
She shouted over the fans, you hugged her tightly and buried your head into the crook of her neck. After you put her down you kissed your left wrist which had 'Mum' tattooed on it, Georgia then kissed it and everyone went back to their places. Minute 16 soon came and Beth made a breakthrough receiving the ball from Fran and getting a second goal for England
"You fucking legend!"
You screamed into her ear while jumping on her back
"We're just too good kid!"
She replied making you smile even more.

Half time soon came around and you walked to the tunnel with Leahs arm around your shoulder
"Told you you'd be fine love"
She whispered into your ear
"I love you so much Blondie"
You replied while walking into the changing room
"Guys we've once again been blessed by a legend"
Georgia said coming over to hug you
"You've already done her so proud mate and we're 1 half into the first game"
She said squeezing the life out of you
"Right how the fuck are you wearing an undershirt you physco"
Ella asked
"Erm I just like wearing undershirts it's also a lot nicer when I've given my top to a fan I don't feel exposed and I fidgit with the sleeves I guess"
You replied shrugging trying to make the reason you really wear them not obvious, Leah and Alex knew you were lying though, they just looked at you solemnly. You had all sat down having a drink and listening to Sarina
"Also I'd just like us all to congratulate Y/n on her debut and debut goal which was a joy to watch, you're gonna go far kid"
The changing room began clapping and Leah got up to come and hug you
"I'm so so proud"
She said
"How are you making me feel so single"
Lucy said
"What am I? A fucking cockroach?"
Keira said acting offended
"No babe I dint mean it like that-"
"No I see how it is"
Keira said cutting Lucy off holding back laughter
"You still love me though"
"Debatable"
Keira replied putting her arm around Lucys waist
"Alright love birds we have a game to win"
Alex said looking at the 2 sets of couples
"Alright mum"
You said rolling your eyes at her beginning your walk onto the pitch.

Full time came around quickly and it was announced the you were getting player of the match

G shouted pointing at the screen

"Oh my God"
You were in disbelief but we're soon taken to do an interview
"Y/n so lovely to meet you, how are you feeling after the match?"
The reporter asked
"Erm well I can't really put it into words how I feel I'm very overwhelmed with emotions but extremely greatful for this opportunity"
You replied
"We saw your celebration after the goal and noticed that you and Georgia kissed your wrist, is there any reason for that?"
"Yeah I have a tattoo dedicated to my mum on my wrist and it's coming very close to the anniversary of her and my families passing, she would be buzzing if she was here today"
You replied trying not to get emotional, the interview finished and you bumped into Esme
"You alright?"
She asked
"Yeah why wouldn't I be Es?"
You replied knowing she had noticed something was wrong
"I don't know something seems off"
She said looking you up and down
"I'm fine stop worrying"
"hmm I'm still keeping an eye on you"
She said unconvinced, you walked into the changing room and were greeted by everyone singing and dancing, you felt like you had been part of the squad for years but it had only been a couple months.
