Chapter 19 - For Mum

"Erm I don't know how to word this without seeming intrusive"
She started
"But I've noticed you've not really been yourself at the minute and you've been spending alot of time on your own, you've barely eaten or spoken to anyone, even Leah, well from what I can see"
You sat down next to her and looked at her
"Oh, right"
You replied looking at the ground
"I know what you're going through to some extent, well at least with your eating problems. I'm not gonna force you to tell me anything but I'm here for you whatever your going through"
She said smiling at you
"Now cmon we've got a game to absolutely smash my girl"
She said pulling you up and and walking with you until you saw Leah and Tooney where you both went your separate ways. You and Leah warmed up talking about random things until you diverted your attention to the family section, it hurt not seeing any of your family there, especially your mum
"I know she'd be here if she could y/n, I know she's so proud of you"
Georgia said from behind you
"I know I just wish I got one more hug you know, I miss her so much and it hurts a little extra right now"
Leah had gone to see her mum so it was just you and Georgia, she was one of the only ones when had really known your family on a personal level so she understood your pain more than anyone at the minute
"I think your gonna score tonight, for them"
Georgia said patting her chest
"You know I'll try my hardest"
Eventually Georgia went to see her mum so you decided to go inside for some time to process everything alone, you sat down on your bench and sighed. Why was everyone asking so many questions about how you feel? Was you making it obvious that you were struggling? You brushed it off and put on your headphones and pulled your knees up and spaced put completely until you felt someone touching your knee
"You alright babe? It's only me"
Leah said as you became more aware of your surroundings and took your headphones off, it was just you and Leah in the changing room nobody else had come in yet
"Yeah I'm good just must of zoned out"
You stood up and Leah pulled you into a hug when you heard music coming from down the tunnel
"Here comes Rachel"
Leah said giggling, she was right as a few seconds later the whole team came in singing and dancing, it was quite overwhelming. You just got changed and sat down watching everyone else dance, you noticed Leah wasn't dancing either so you got up and pulled her up forcing her to dance
"What are you doinggg?"
She asked dragging out the g
"Just because your captain doesn't mean you can't dance before a game"
Leah just looked at you but she danced until Sarina came in to go over everything
"Okay so today's lineup is

Bright
Williamson
Daly
Walsh
Stanway

White"
You looked at Leah who was grinning and clapping along with the other girls
"I'm starting?"
You said to Sarina
"Yes you've been brilliant in training and I believe you deserve it more than anyone else"
She replied, you were so excited but also slightly nervous but you were going to do it for mum. Sarina and Leah finished their speeches and you walked out to the tunnel, you were stood at the back behind Georgia
"We're gonna smash this mate"
Georgia said turning to you
"For mum"
You said giving her a high five before walking out to see the huge crowd.
"Wow"
You said quietly so only G could hear you
"I know it's insane"
She replied
