Mile's POV:

I needed her to go change. The pajama delivery could not have come sooner and the rest of the clothes were coming when the stores opened in the morning. Malachi was going crazy, demanding to mark her. Especially with how her lashes seemed to make her eyes heavy, and the way she looked at me. The way she held herself when I knew she was hurting.

I could go launch an attack on Nicholas at this very moment for what he did to her. For what he is most likely doing to many others, but I needed to tend to Violet, my mate. I had to make sure she was comfortable. That was the top priority at this moment.

She came prancing out, her long hair wafting down in such beautiful curls. As she came back towards the kitchen, she tripped over her own two feet. I was quick to catch her. "Be careful, you've had a bit to drink," I reminded.

She looked down. "Sorry," she said.

I rubbed her arms. "Oh no, no need to apologize. If you want to drink tonight, by all means. I won't stop you. I just want to remind you to be careful."

"I feel comfortable around you," she said so quietly, she was lucky I had super hearing.

"I'm glad you do. I feel comfortable around you," I couldn't help the goofy smile that graced my face. To others, I was the cold-hearted True Alpha, one to not be messed with. One that was strict with the supernatural laws. I've done what I have had to do to keep my pack safe, to keep them at the top. The warriors train hard but are respected by all. Yet this girl was making those walls come down.

She took another drink, then dug into the pizza. Good, she needed the carbs to soak up the alcohol. I took a drink with her.

"So, what do you do for work?" Violet asked, her speech beginning to slur.

"I'm in charge of a lot of people," I responded.

"So a CEO?" she asked as she shoveled more pizza in. Goodness her carefree spirit was turning me on.

"You could say that," I was not about to tell her I was a werewolf who happened to be an alpha of a pack. And on top of that, a true Alpha, born into a generational role of Alphas. I came from the lineage of the first werewolf.

Unexpectedly, she reached her hand out, gently gliding her fingers along the contour of my abs. The touch sent pleasuring waves all over my body, awakening desires I had been trying to push aside since I first saw her.

She began to glide her fingers down, feeling the hem of my pants. I grabbed a hold of her hand, stopping her.

She looked up at me, confused. "Isn't this what you want?"

My heart broke. She must think I am doing all of this for some action. I shook my head. "Not in that way, I want you on your terms, not because you think you owe me. I don't expect you to understand, but I care about you deeply."

She took another drink, at this point no amount of carbs could save her. "Funny thing is, you're actually the first guy I have wanted," she laughed to herself.

I picked her up off the stool and carried her over to the couch. Mainly to get her away from her drink but to also get to hold her closer and talk to her. She was as light as a feather, but then again, most things were. I was quite strong thanks to what I was.  "I want you too, but it wouldn't be right while you're like this," I told her truthfully.

"Do you think Nicholas will come to get me?" she questioned, softly as she nestled into my chest on the couch.

I pulled her in tighter. "He'll be dead the moment he tries to lay a finger on you." My blood boiled at the mere thought, Malachi was growling in my head, causing one to escape. She didn't stir though, she must be more intoxicated than she is letting on.

I began to run my hands through her hair. She moved slightly, her hand resting on my leg. She slowly moved it up and down. This woman was going to be my undoing. I threw my head back, practically purring in pleasure at her close proximity. What I didn't expect was her sudden movement to push me down on the couch as she slung her legs over me so that she was on top of me, looking down. Had she not caught me off guard, she never would have been able to do that.

She began to move her fingers this and that way on my chest as her hips began to sway. I couldn't help but give in to her. She knew what she was doing. My thoughts shifted to dirtier thoughts, what I desired to do to her. "Violet," I began but she placed a finger over my lip, quieting me.

"I told you, I want you," she said. Only her voice sounded slightly different.

I opened my eyes, looking at her and her eyes were glowing an unnaturally bright blue. "What are you?" I said in a mere whisper.

Her hand pushed against my throat in a playful manner, an attempt to choke me. Who was this girl? Did Nicholas know something about her I didn't.

It was my turn, I flipped her so that I was in control. I was on top. Slowly, Malachi took over. My body reverberated from the growl that shook me. I desired to mate her right here and now. I leaned in close, gently kissing her neck, up and down. I felt her body shift up and down. Her arm hooked around me, pulling me into her.

My hard member pressed firmly against her as I gently bucked against her. Stupid Miles, he was pushing me back. He needed to let me out, she is our mate.

Miles regained control. I pulled back immediately. If this continued she may regret having initiated this. I looked at her eyes looked heavy. "Let's get you to bed." I carried her to the room she would stay in. Gently tucking her into the California king-sized bed.

I was about to turn away and clean everything up after I had tucked her in, but I felt her gentle hand. "Don't go, please... I... I'm scared," she said just in a whisper.

She was so raw and vulnerable. My heart ached for all she had endured. "Of course." I kissed her forehead, getting under the covers next to her. "I'm so sorry I didn't find you sooner."
