Violet's POV:

Had someone told me I would be freed of working at King V's strip club and then willingly walked back in? I would have laughed in their face. But here I was, a black lace lingerie set with tight black shorts that did not provide much to the imagination of onlookers.

Miles hated the idea, but his Beta Sam and Eric thought it was the best plan. Walk right into the dungeon itself and act like Eric had gotten me to surrender. After a quick urgent message was sent to the council, Miles and Sam prepared their pack for an ambush. All I had to do, was perform.

The music blared, and I could feel the bass vibrate through my whole body. One of Nicholas's countless guards eyed me up and down. "Your back?"

I ignored them, gliding my fingers along the armchairs of drooling men. Slowly making my way up on stage. Surely Nicholas would have been alerted by now.

I made my way up the stairs and towards the center stage. I bent down, whipped my hair, and slowly brushed my hands up my leg before I continued towards the pole. I walked around it, my left hand bracing myself. And just off stage, I could see Nicholas's black eyes fuming. Good.

I picked up speed and wrapped my other hand around the pole to spin with elegance. I stopped, kicking my heel up to slowly pull down my booty shorts, my hands assisting as needed. I shook my derrière to wow the crowd. Glaring right at Nicholas, he began to step forward but stopped himself when he remembered the crowd.

I knew he wanted to snatch me away right then and there, I just needed to stall. I just had to distract him. I turned my back to the pole, gliding down, then back up before I did another trick with my legs gripping the pole before spinning back down.

Men held their money towards me, desiring my attention. I danced my way around to collect the cash. Except stupidly, Nicholas had switched to being in the crowd, holding a hundred-dollar bill at me. His grip held me still. "I'd like a private dance, my precious Jewel." He used my stage name.

"Price has gone up," I commented. Him catching me was not part of the plan but I would have to compromise.

His brows stitched together in clear annoyance as he pulled me out of the public's eye. "What brought you back?" he asked.

"You should know, you sent Eric after me," I said, my heart cold.

Nicholas's smile did not meet his eyes, but he seemed to buy it. Of course he did, he was too cocky. "Now now, if you stay by my side. Perhaps I won't kill that stupid wolf."

"But why now? Why have me rule by your side now when you had me all those years?" I was curious as to why he waited until I was gone.

He shrugged. "Sometimes when you lose things, it makes you realize mistakes. My mistake was not having you by my side from the beginning. But of course, it was not exactly clear to me what you were until I had enjoyed your blood a few times. It has a richer, sweeter taste than any other blood imaginable. At first, I thought it was just luck but then I noticed you were not being compelled. Good show you put on, quite the actress," his smile grew stronger, meeting his eyes with an evil gleam as he shoved me into one of the booth-type rooms.

He caught me off guard, but I could feel Vanessa stir within me, she was ready to fight. But just then, screams erupted. I could hear howls and growls. "You dirty slut!" Nicholas yelled, throwing me back out of the booth. Vanessa taking over.

Nicholas tried to pull me with him, he tried to escape with me but I was stronger. I could feel my canines begin to protrude. "You think you are a match for me? Descendant of Van Helsing himself?"

His jaw dropped before he snapped it shut. "You, you're a Helsing?"

"Violet is, yes. But I'm something else entirely, but I think you already know that. And you should be scared," I slowly walked towards him. His towering height did not scare me. I yearned for this day to take down King Nicholas.

Nicholas jumped first, but I quickly dodged his attack. I could feel my mate nearing before I heard his growls. And for the first time, I saw fear in Nicholas's eyes. He turned to run, realizing he had lost.

Miles jumped at him, knocking him down. Nicholas grabbed a hold of his neck, trying to squeeze his windpipes so he could not breathe. This was my chance, I sank my teeth in Nicholas's neck, enjoying his screams as he released Miles to try to pry me off. But he was too late. He had lost and he knew it. Living the rest of his life as a human was the best punishment for all of his crimes.

As Nicholas gained his humanity, I relinquished control back to Violet.
