Nicholas POV:

Another idiot working for me. Why could none of my men tell me where she had gone? All they could tell me was she got away when some guy saw her and picked her up.

I threw my fist on the counter, shattering the granite straight down the middle.

I heard one of the men in the room gulp. Their heart rate quicken. "You men are useless," I said, storming to where the girls are kept. She had to have been close to someone.

I knocked the door off its hinges. The idiots could fix that later.

"Who in here was close to Violet?"

All the girls blinked, frozen in fear. Good, glad they feared me. "Speak or I'll interrogate each and every one of you individually."

A small black-haired girl in the back of the room spoke up, "Sir, she wasn't close to anyone. She was protective yes, but reserved."

I could work with protective. "Then who was she most protective of?"

Another girl spoke up, she had . She seemed familiar, perhaps she had been here for a while but I knew none of the girl's names. They were simply a means of food and to pay off debts. "She wasn't really protective of a specific individual. Just whoever needed help."

"Three of you that knew of her, step forward," I demanded. I needed options if this plan were to work. I needed my Violet back. I could not let her mate mark her. My entire empire my whole family has worked hard to maintain and grow would be all for naught.

No one was stepping forward. "I said three of you step forward, now!" I yelled, my nostrils flaring. They were testing my already thin patience. Finally, a blonde stepped forward, and the other two followed in the first one's footsteps. "Who do we have here?"

"Jenny," the blonde-haired girl said softly, keeping her head down so as to not make eye contact.

"Candy," a strong-looking girl answered, making eye contact with me. Hm, so she must be one of the newer girls, trying to use a false name with me too.

"Hannah," a redhead said, twiddling her thumbs.

"Come with me," I demanded as I walked them away from the rest of the girls to educate them of my plan. I was going to get my Violet back. She belonged to me, not the true Alpha. After everything I had done for her, protected her from. She owed me.
