Miles POV:

The thread that linked us together was now intertwined. Marked and mated. Every kiss, every moment we shared was filled with such raw passion.

I felt Mile's pushing me back, trying to take back control. I licked Violet's mark, closing the wound up before I relinquished control.

Stupid Malachi. Mate wanted pleasure. Malachi argued back with me. I shook my head, looking down and seeing Violet still squirming.

I planted a gentle kiss on her mark, brushing her blonde hair off her face. Her blue eyes lit up, alerting me to the anti side of her. She shoved me off of her, sending me flying into the wall, stinging my still-healing side.

"Violet?" some part of her still had to have control.

She tilted her head, looking at me. Speeding over to my side, picking me back up. "You mated with this body," she stated.

"Of course I did, Violet, I love you," I tried to get Violet back.

She screamed, her hands gripping onto her head before she stood back up. Her eyes still glowing. "Violet?"

She nodded. "I... I'm here but like with someone else in my head."

"It's okay. It must be similar to the connection I have with my wolf, Malachi. You've met him a couple of times but it's always still me," I did my best to help her remain calm.

"She's trying to gain control again," Violet grimaced.

I reached out through our newly bonded link. Violet.

She looked up at me, startled. "Did I just... Did I hear you in my head?"

I nodded. "I'm going to talk to your other part now, it's okay to let her take control."

"What if she hurts you again? I... I saw myself push you against the wall," she was fighting hard.

"I can handle myself if she does it again. She's probably just as scared as you are. It'll be okay," I encouraged her.

She closed her eyes, relinquishing control again. What's your name?

Violet tilted her head, stepping closer to me. Vanessa

So she was an alter ego similar to my wolf. Vanessa, nice to meet you. May I ask who you are?

I'm a descendant of Van Helsing himself. Destroyer of vampires. Violet is the descendant, but I'm the same as your wolf half. Only Violet has not accepted me yet, which has not allowed us to merge. She must accept me for us to merge. Will you help?

I nodded my head, "Yes, I will help, will you let my Violet come back?"

Yes. Vanessa answered before her eyes dimmed, Violet dropping to her knees. I caught her with ease. "Violet?"

She looked up at me, her eyelids heavy. "What?"

"You have to accept Vanessa, she's a part of you. Just as you are a part of her," I answered.

She looked at me confused, her lips slightly parted. "That's stupid. Then where has she been all my life?" Where was she when I was getting the life drained out of me from Nicholas?"

"Eric told me that she came out to protect you when it was needed. You just have no memories of her. You have to accept that she's a part of you and those memories should come back," I answered.

"So, do I just shout to the universe that I accept my other half?" she questioned.

"Honestly, I would just try to seek her from within. I can feel a warmth within you through our link. You're strong. You just have to release it. When you find it, you'll know," I encouraged.

"Right," she said before closing her eyes in concentration. We stood still for a minute, I was beginning to think nothing would happen until her veins glowed a vibrant blue. It was within her blood, of course! Her blood was poisonous to vampires, her blood was what gave her strength.

Violet opened her eyes, a smile spreading wide. "I hear her! I hear Vanessa! She says thank you!"

I couldn't help but smile at her excitement. "You're welcome."

"Now time to take down Nicholas once and for all," Violet said with renewed vigor. And her spunk turned me on.
