Nicholas POV:

"What do you mean none of my people returned?" I had already torn up my office from rage. My precious bait is gone. Would I have to waste another human to set up another trap?

"Well, we found Henry to be decapitated and no sight of the girl we recently turned," Eric said, already cowering in fear.

I chunked one of my many priceless pieces of pottery at him, which he ducked. "We are going after the true Alpha ourselves. He wants my Violet, he deserves my wrath," I growled.

"But Your Majesty," Eric waited for my permission to speak.

I rolled my eyes, he was pitiful and yet my most loyal which was why he was my right-hand man. "What is it?"

Eric's shoulders relaxed, "Well see, we both know we are expected to follow the rules the council has set, and well, I think going after the true Alpha would spark some alarms and well then we would be wanted."

Within a millisecond, I was right in front of Eric. "Do not question my actions." I was very well aware of all the rules and the repercussions of breaking such rules. But I have an empire to think about. Others relied on me to provide a food source, provide jobs, and provide pleasure. I had been around for over 5 centuries, slowly making something of myself. And I was not going to let some baby Alpha destroy it all over some girl.

"Yes, so sorry Your Majesty," Eric apologized.

"Take one of the other girls that meant something to Violet. Compel her to be obedient, allow her to be freed by Mr. Big Bad Wolf himself, and have her report back to you. Once we know enough, we go in to rip Violet away from the Alpha. He'll be weak without her. And then we kill him," I planned. We had to be quick. Distract him with the unknown of our next move so he never had time to inform the council. But even if he did, half of them were on my side. He was just a mere pest in the bigger picture.

"I will rule over all creatures. And with Violet on my side, the anti-vampire," I said.
