Miles POV:
I lunged at Eric but something was faster. Violet? She was her alter ego.
"What the?" I heard Eric say rhetorically as he dropped Jenny. Violet caught her before she fell.
I took the moment of distraction to attack. I pounced, pushing Eric back out the already shattered window. Eric tried to grab a hold of my neck, but I twisted our bodies so that he would take the brunt force of impact as we hit the earth.
He pushed me up but my paws pushed him back to the earth. I needed answers before I killed him though. I shifted back, Eric would be stronger than me in this form but he was outnumbered.
"How did you get through my pack?" I demanded to know.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" Eric smirked.
I growled, beginning to shift back. My canines protruded. "How?"
Eric's eyes turned into slits. "You should ask that to some of your pack. They are not as loyal as you once thought. Some have been enjoying nights at the casino, wracking up debts. King Nicholas is always one step ahead."
"Then what does he want with Violet?" I interrogated. I knew she was my mate but she was something more too. Did they know?
"Is it not obvious?" Eric laughed despite being the one in the weaker position.
I furrowed my eyes in question. "Elaborate."
"Nicholas noticed she could not be compelled but she did her best to hide it from us. Of course, Nicholas did not let her know we were onto her. He started looking into her past, her mother had slept around with others for cash. Her father is not her real father but the mother had no memory of who Violet's real father was. Every now and then when Nicholas would bring her in for our feedings, she would turn. She matched our strength and even turned a couple of us human. Of course, Nicholas tried to change them back after that but was unable. But whenever she was back to her normal self, she never had any recollection of what happened," Eric answered, quite thoroughly to my surprise.
"So even you all don't know what she is?" I questioned.
"We've been calling her an anti-vampire. In all our millennia of living, we've never known anything like her. So now I must ask you, Miles? What do you plan to do? Nicholas will not stop until he has her back. We cannot have someone like her out and about," Eric stated, right as he stabbed into my side with his hand. I was careless.
I groaned in agony, Eric picked me up, throwing me with ease. I did my best to shift, but the open wound stung and ripped further in my shift. But my wolf body was stronger.
"Where is your lazy pack now when you need them?" Eric taunted, but what he did not see was my precious mate with eyes that could kill.
She sauntered towards us, my own body picked up by Eric's one hand with ease. I kicked him with my hind legs, grunting in pain.
Violet caught Eric with ease, his eyes growing wide. Both his hands trying to push her away. I leaped towards them, ripping one of Eric's arms off with my teeth so she could get a clean strike at his throat, turning him back to his human state, forever.
