Someone opens up the curtains in my room. The sun hits my eyes so I go under my blanket, shutting my eyes tightly. Our maid, Lauri, probably opened it. She comes here every morning to wake me up, but one day I kind of yelled at her for breaking my ceramic bowl that I made in 6th grade from art. I forgot about it after a couple days, but she never did. Now, she doesn't look up to my eyes when she talks to me. We barely even talk anymore. I guess she's scared of me. I realize it's a Friday and Chris will be in school waiting for me. I jump on the floor with my blanket. I let it fall on the floor while I go brush. When I'm ready to go downstairs, I take my black shoulder bag and wear some makeup.

My family were sitting on the dining table, eating breakfast. Mom made scrambled eggs, and Lauri was washing the dishes. I wasn't really hungry so I just marched on my apple. Jake was looking handsome today. He was wearing a black shirt with a tie. He put on gell which he barely does. "It is picture day?"

"Do I only dress up for picture day?" I rolled my eyes, and went back to eating my apple. Maybe he got a new girlfriend...I realized Jake changed. Before he was a shy quiet kid, but now he was a cool man. Only one thing didn't change: being a nice brother. He was always nice and caring to me. He never wanted to know about my personal life, but Mike did. He would never stop asking me questions about my friends. One time, he asked me about all the people I text. I didn't tell him about the boys I texted. Jake never cared about the people I texted. Before he used to be annoying like mike, but he's fine now.

I remembered I left my socks in my closet. I went up to get them. From the corner of my eye, I saw Jake coming towards me. He still didn't answer my questions. Oh well, he doesn't have to if it's personal. I picked random socks without looking at them. When I closed the door, I looked down at the socks. The color was a bright orange. Yeah, no. I hate orange so I went back to change them. I heard the door close. I left it open when I came in here. I turned around, and it was Jake.

"What the hell you doing in here?" Why am I so mean to him, I thought to myself. He's my little brother, it's okay if he comes in my room. I go in his room all the time. I think it was because I was mad that he didn't tell me anything about himself. He always wanted to know about the guys I liked and everything. Being his big sister, I have a right to know.

"Did you forget that easily? You asked me a question, but I didn't quite answer it. The reason I dressed up is because of my...my...g-girlfriend."

"WHAT!?" Oh my god! Jake has a girlfriend. That's so cute.

"Shhhh! Don't tell mom and dad or Mike. Please, please." Jake is also scared about this. I knew what was going to happen if I told mom and dad about Chris, and Jake knew that too. So it was better to shut up, and pretend we're single.

"Okay, man. Calm down. I'm not going to tell anyone. Don't worry, little brother." I smiled at him. He was relived now.

"Thanks...Oh, and can you give me a ride to school?" I was going to say sure, but I remembered Chris's jacket was in there. I think he would see it. Oops...
