As Emily walked out of the classroom, she wondered to herself. If a dementor attacked her, was there a way to defend herself? There must be a way. So after dinner Emily headed to the library to check on dementors. As she read on, she found out that the spell to deflect dementors is called the patronus charm, and the pronunciation is 'Expecto patronum'. You need to think of a happy memory, and then a patronus will occur, if you do it correctly. Emily grabbed another book, and it was about animagi. Interesting. Very interesting. As she went on, the more she wanted to become an animagi. Emily completely forgot about the patronus charm and dementors when she started going through her books from the library before bed. Deciding a bit more of rule breaking wouldn't be a problem. So she performed the invisibility spell, so nobody could see her, and set out, with the book under her arm. She almost ran into Harry, Professor Snape, and Professor Lupin that night!

She walked calmly towards the come and go room (or the room or requirements) and walked past the wall three times, saying I need a place to practice spells, were nobody will find out... And then a door appeared. She opened it, and in the room was everything that she needed to practise. Emily locked the door and started to work. The happy memory she thought was getting my owl, Phoenix, "Expecto patronum!" Emily shouted. A silver mist erupted from her wand. Emily took some chocolate out of her pocket, and tried again. After an hour worth of practise, Emily tried one last time before going to bed. This time she thought of getting her 10th birthday. "Expecto patronum!" a horse erupted from Emily's wand. Amazing! She put on her invisibility charm and headed of to bed.

After 2 weeks, it was after dinner, and everybody wanted to go to bed, after a delightful dinner. However, there was a crowd in front of the fat lady. "S'cuse me everyone, let me through, I am a prefect. I said let me through!" prefect Weasley said. He pushed through the crowd, pushing Emily over in the process. He looked down in disgust and continued. Her ankle heart now. Thank's Weasley. Emily tried to stand up, but it was too painful to do so.

After a while Dumbledore came to find out what was happening, and what was causing all of the commotion. The fat lady... gone...

"Argus! Gather up all of the ghosts! Search the whole castle for the fat lady!" Dumbledore ordered. "No need professor." Filch weezed, "She's just up there!" he said while pointing up at a painting behind a painted rock.

"My dear lady, who did this to you?" Dumbledore asked.

"Oh, a nasty temper he's got. That Sirius Black!" the fat lady exclaimed. Everybody gasped, including Emily. Her father, if you could call it that, was here, in the castle?! "Everybody to the great hall! Head's of houses, gather up your house and lead them to the great hall too!" Dumbledore boomed. Everybody rushed of to the great hall, nobody bothering to help Emily, some even standing on her wrist, which she couldn't lift up because of the pain she was feeling. Her eyes started stinging. After everybody left, there was McGonagall, standing there, as if looking for someone. The professor looked down as she heard a sob escape someone's mouth. "Emily!" McGonagall exclaimed. The poor girl was a mess. Her wrist and ankle throbbing painfully, her hair ruffled, and her eyes full of tears, of pain and fear. "Oh dear, come on, let's get you to the hospital wing." She helped a limping and tear stained Emily to the hospital wing. Madam Pomfrey fixed her up in no seconds, and together with McGonagall they walked towards the great hall. Emily wiped away her tears and stepped inside. There were no sleeping bags left, and Emily just sat on a window sill, staring outside. She say a big, black dog, together with Hermione's cat Crookshanks, and somehow, the dog reminded her of her father, somehow.

The next morning when McGonagall came to check on her, but found out that there was a white horse with black stains on her spot. She was nowhere else to be seen. Could it be? No, impossible. McGonagall walked over to the horse and said, "Um, are you Miss Black?"
