Emily stepped onto the Hogwarts Express, ready to find a seat. Her bandages were off, but the scars were visible a bit on her face. There were still whispers, but not as much as there were in her third year. Emily sat down in an empty compartment, Lucky sitting on her lap.
10 minutes later (Emily was 30 minutes early), the golden trio stepped in, fully unaware that this compartment wasn't empty. Emily cleared her throat. "Come on guys, we'll find another compartment." Harry said, and walked out, but Ron took a look at Lucky and shouted at him to come back, "Harry! Harry! Come back! Black has a wolf, she is going to get into so much trouble!" Ron shouted happily.
"Is it true?" Harry asked, and took one look at Lucky and then said, "I would hide her..."
"Him. It's a boy." Emily corrected.
"I would hide him if you want to keep him." Harry said, and then walked out, Ron and Hermione sharing a shocked look, but walked out too. Emily could hear them talking on the corridor. The rest of the train ride was as uneventful as it was boring, excluding when Cedric eventually came in to say hi and that was it.
When they arrived, Emily went into the carriage with Cedric and when then went inside the castle, she was pulled aside by Madam Pomfrey, who asked Emily about her scars, and then let her go. "Emily!" Professor McGonagall exclaimed. "I got an owl from Noah, and he told me that you would be bringing a wolf pup to school. I arranged with Professor Dumbledore that you can keep him - which he didn't want to but eventually said yes -, but you need to have him with you at all times."
"Thank you professor, his name is Lucky." Emily took out the little wolf from her bag and showed it to her. "He is adorable, take good care of him and you. Now, off you go." she beamed and Emily searched for Cedric, but he was talking to his girlfriend, so she let them walk to the great hall together. Emily set Lucky down on the floor, "Stay close to me at all times. When we are in the great hall I will pick you up and carry you to the great hall, ok?" Emily said sternly, and the wolf nodded, standing square next to Emily. They stode towards the great hall and luckily, nobody saw Lucky, or there would be more whispers.
They arrived in the great hall's entrance and Lucky jumped into Emily's awaiting arms. Together they walked towards the Gryffindor table and sat down. Harry and Hermione frowned while Ron looked gleeful. "Didn't I say that you should hide him, now they are going to take you away," Harry whispered, pointing towards Professor McGonagall that was headed towards them. Rons laughed, "Well, something must have happened, because just five minutes go she told me everything was fine. Emily stood up and walked over to professor McGonagall and then she came back. "What was it?" Ron asked happily, as if expecting her to be sad, but Emily just smiled, "Oh, it was just about the food for him. The house elves will give him dog food." Harry nodded and Hermione was shocked, "There are house elves here!" she exclaimed, and Emily nodded, going back to her spot where Lucky was waiting for her.
The first year students were sorted, and then the 'oh so good' Dumbledore gave his speech and then the golden plates filled with delicious food and the goblets with pumpkin juice. Emily grabbed some shepherd's pie, while Ron gagged. He had just grabbed the dog food. "Thanks Weasley!" Emily exclaimed, grabbing the bowl and putting a bit on a plate, and and some water in the bowl, and he had dinner too. Everybody finished their food and then Dumbledore gave another short speech, "First, welcome to our new defense against the dark arts teacher, professor Moody!" an applause was heard shortly for the professor with the spinning magical eye, the wooden leg and with a nose with chunks out of it. "I also have another announcement to make. This year, Hogwarts is proud to host the triwizard tournament!"
"You're joking!" Fred or George Weasley shouts.
"I am not joking Mr Weasley. The triwizard tour was put on a halt because of the rising death tolls, but this year we have put in special measures to make sure that there will be no deaths." Emily was shocked so much at the word death, that she was paralyzed. All of a sudden she felt a pain in the back of her head, and she saw flashes of green light, screaming. She saw her mother, Lily and James Potter, they were dead. She also saw Cedric, Noah, Sirius, Remus, Tonks, Fred, Colin Creevey, Lavender Brown, Professor Snape and so many more, including Bertha Jorkins, the woman that went missing in Albania a few weeks ago. Did that mean they were dead? Or were they going to die... "Emily!" someone shouted, she groggily opened her eyes, it was Cedric. "Where am I? she asked.
"You're in the hospital wing. You have been out for 3 days! The students from Durmstrang and Beauxbatons have arrived, and I have entered my name into the Goblet of Fire, which is the judge that chooses who enters the tournament." Cedric explains. Emily just nods, her head pounding painfully. Madam Pomfrey bustled in, thrusting a potion into her hands, and forcing her to drink it. Her head felt better immediately.
"Can I go to the choosing of the champions please?" Emily begged, but stopped when she saw Cedric's face.
"Emily, its about Lucky." Emily's face sprang into fear, "He, he's not eating or drinking, and he might not make it..." Cedric whispered. Tears jumped into Emily's eyes.
"Where is he?" she blurted.
"In your dorm room." Cedric replied and Emily ran of. Cedric tried to catch up, but Emily was too fast. "Merlin, why is this girl so fast?" he huffed to himself, and stopped running when he saw Emily passing through the portrait and the portrait closing. Cedric didn't know the password, so he waited there impatiently. Meanwhile, Emily stood in the common room, tear streaks down her face, and everyone staring at her. The Golden Trio wasn't there. Good. They would have probably humiliated her. She ignored them and ran up the stairs to her dormitory. "Lucky!" she shouted, as she entered the dorm. Only Hermione was in there. Hermione thought about asking what was wrong, but Emily shouted, "Lucky!" this time there was a small, soft whimper coming from under her bed.
"Lucky!" Emily exclaimed, and huddled close to her bed, and scooped the little wolf into her arms. Emily sobbed as she saw the almost lifeless body of her beloved wolf. The sight pained Hermione's heart. "Come on boy... Drink some water..." Emily said, "Auguamenti," she whispered. Water appeared in Lucky's water bowl, and she scooped some water in her hands and Lucky licked the water. She did the same with the food, "Accio!" she shouted, and the food came rushing towards her hands. After giving Lucky some food, Emily transfigured a rock into a baby bottle, and filled it up with powdered milk and hot water, and carefully fed it to Lucky.
Hermione was perplexed, how could she do all of those charms and spells? She didn't know, and went down towards the common room to go down to dinner with Harry and Ron.
Emily didn't come down to the choosing of the champions. Cedric knew why and he didn't hate her for it. Emily stayed up in her dorm, giving Lucky water and food every 15 or so minutes. When Lucky fell asleep, Emily softly laid him on her bed and sat on the floor, reading a book. 30 minutes later, Hermione, looking awfully distressed. "What's wrong? WHo are the champions? IS it a Slytherin?" Emily asked. This made Hermione feel bad, because she had only made Emily's life bad, but she still asks what's wrong.
"There are four champions. Victor Krum, Fleur Delacour, Cedric Diggory," Emily's face paled, "And Harry."
For some reason, Emily felt sorry for Harry, and didn't believe for a single second that he put his name in the goblet of fire, he was too dumb. Emily stayed up in her dorm for as long as it took Lucky to recover (3 days), and everyday, a house elf named Dinkie would bring up some food and drinks for her so she could stay with Lucky. Emily was very grateful for that, during that time, Dinkie, Emily, Phoenix and Lucky became very good friends. Emily almost forgot that Cedric was a champion...
