Emily had been spending her whole week helping Cedric, recovering from her 3 week coma and catching up on her homework.

They practise defensive spells and attacking spells, making sure that Cedric perfected all of them. It was the day of the third task and everybody was pumped with excitement, except for Hermione, Harry, Ron and Emily. The trio were scared for Harry, because he was the youngest of all champions. Emily was worried for all champions, because she had a feeling that something bad was going to happen.

Emily was walking in the corridors, heading towards the great hall for lunch, but Professor Moody intercepted her. "Mind coming into my office quickly Miss Black?" he asked, and Emily followed him into the office. "What's wrong professor?" Emily questioned.

"I have been watching you this year Miss Black, and you have extraordinary powers. I suspect that you would be very valuable for the Dark Lord." Emily looked at him suspiciously. The dark lord? Then she understood. He wasn't the real mad-eye moody. He was an imposter. "Stupefy!" he yelled, and Emily ducked and grabbed her wand from her robes. Blasts of light almost hit Emily multiple times, but she defended them. She herself attacked non-verbal spells to the professor, who too deflected them. "Ah! Non-verbal spells. Very good Miss Black, very good." he mused, "You would be a great death eater. Also very useful to have a death eater in hogwarts, like me myself."

Emily was slowing down. Keeping all the curses away from her self was draining her energy, and fast. "Professor Moody! What is happening?" professor McGonagall shrieked from the corridor and Emily looked up for a second. In that second a curse hit Emily who fell to the floor, and with a flick of his wand he restored everything back to normal. "Mad-Eye! What happened?" McGonagall breathed, eyes filled with shock as she looked at Emily sprawled on the ground.

"Ah, she was really scared for Mr Diggory here, and was practically on her knees, begging to know what was in the maze, so I had to tell her, and she fainted. I'll bring her to the hospital wing. Come on Minerva, you better not be late, one of your house is there after all." Professor Moody exclaimed, and the transfiguration professor bustled away, muttering to herself.

"You aren't going to the hospital anytime soon missie." Moody whispered sinerstly, grabbing Emily and a tea cup, which was a portkey, and disappeared.

Meanwhile, over by the quidditch stands, Cedric Diggory was patiently waiting for Emily to come and wish him luck, but she didn't come. He couldn't see her anywhere. Not in the crowd, not in the stands, not anywhere. Maybe she was on her way. Cedric waited, but the third task was about to begin, and she wasn't anywhere in sight. He was about to alert the professors, but a voice boomed over the crowd. "We have Mr Diggory and Mr Potter tied for first place, so they will enter the maze first. Mr Krum is second, so he will enter the maze second, and last but not least at third place, we have Miss Delacour who will enter the maze last. Can we have one last round of applause for all of the champions, because only one will come out victorious." The whole crowd clapped and applauded, "Let the third task, begin!" Cedric and Harry ran into the maze, both going a different way. "Good luck Potter," Cedric said, and Harry nodded.

Cedric encountered quite a few things that he didn't want to meet ever again, but other than that it went pretty smooth. A very, very long screwt can towards him, but he simply ducked and ran away. No need for magic here. All of a sudden he heard a scream, and red lights went up. He kind of hoped it was Harry, because he would be out of harm. About 5 minutes later, another red light came up, and who it was, Cedric had no clue. Suddenly he saw a bluish glow coming from the hedge in front of him. He must be close. He turned right, then left and then he saw it. The triwizard cup. What he also saw was that Harry was on the other side, looking at the cup. What he didn't see was the gigantic acromantula behind him... With its pincers it grabbed Cedric's shirt and started bringing him towards its mouth. "Harry help!" Cedric shouted. Harry hesitated but then ran towards the spider. "Stupefy!" Harry exclaimed, and the jet of light hit the spider in the stomach, letting go of Cedric, who fell to the ground. "Thanks mate. For a second I thought you were going to let me die there." the hufflepuff boy breathed.
