Last night's dream is the only one Rei could remember because of how serene it was. She remembers playing Debussy's Cello Sonata in a wide, open field; her back was towards a piano and its player. Everything is so clear! Except the fact that whenever she tries to concentrate on the pianist's face, static comes up to the forefront of her mind. Still, this is the best dream she's had for the past week, so its incredibly welcomed. She plans to play it after school if she has time.
She feels ready to go back to school today. She has missed her friends and has to apologize to them.
That morning, her father explained that the trips to and from school will be through a chauffer hired by Nerv moving forward. And she was warned by him their address is to be kept quiet. Rei understood, she wanted to argue but decided against it once he hugged her and murmured a simple 'Have a good day' before leaving first.

Fridays at school pass so much more slowly, granted, the reminder for the trip to Osaka two weeks from now lit things up; it sounded amazing and Rei hoped against hope that her dad agrees for her to go. She caught up with Toji and Kensuke and apologized on not calling them.
''But we did call you'' started Toji.
''Did it not go through?'' continued Kensuke, his brow furrowed.
''No?'' Rei was confused and pulled her mobile out, showing them the call history but neither of their numbers came up.
The bell rang and she had to get back to her seat. Maybe the signal was spotty in her dad's apartment? She should remember to ask him later.

After science class, Rei's head was swimming; aparently, they've been reviewing thermal expansion in the classes she missed, so she had to catch up quickly. Rei looked around and saw how Langley-san was closing in on Hikari-chan, clearly happy with something.
''It's my lucky day!'' Langley-san exclained ''Kaji-san agreed to go shopping with me for the Osaka trip!'' she grabbed Hikari-chan's hand and started jumping in place, she noticed that Rei was looking at her direction and lifted her chin in superiority. For what? Rei didin't know, she did not feel jealous, but hurt instead. She distracted herself with thinking whether she can ask her dad to let her go.

That afternoon, you could see Asuka and Kaji walking together, she was hanging off his arm while going around the shopping center.
''I never thought you would come shopping with me, Mr. Kaji!'' She said, tightening her hold and directing them to the beach items store.
''Hey, now'' Kaji started akwardly ''This is the swimsuit section!''
She did not hear him, just started rummaging the selection for one to look the best in, she decided to pull one red and white strippes and overposed to herself to show it up to him ''look at this one! What do you think?''
''I'm not so sure. Isn't that a littlerisqué for a junior high schooler?''
''You're so behind the times! No one bats an eye at swimsuits like this nowadays!''
''Oh'' he looked around instead ''Is that the case?''
''This is our big school trip! We have to cut loose and have fun!''
''Where are you going?''
''O-ki-na-wa! The itinerary even has scuba diving listed!''
''Scuba diving, huh?'' he paused ''It must be three years since I last went diving.''
