Gendo Ikari remained quiet, thinking of his daughter and how close she was with Ryoji Kaji. Not many paternal feelings came to mind when he though of sharing a roof with his daughter. He already had Shinji and Akagi to take care of him, but Rei is different. So much like Yui that she needs to be treated differently, he doesn't think that Rei and Ryoji have done anything yet, but he is not going to give them a chance to either.
He got up, he needs to empty out the extra room.

Rei was impressed by how quick her friends made a hustle out of creepily taking candid fotos of Langley-san and selling them to her fans, only being the third day after she transferred. As a unasked favor, Rei made sure that nothing graphic was taken of the redhead. There was one in which the girls were changing to the PE uniform in the middle of the room while the boys took another classroom to do the same; Langley-san was on her bra and school skirt hanging on her hips. Rei was pissed when she found it in the printed pictures stack, and she believes that now the guys have a healthy fear of her with how much she let them have it.
In these past days, everytime the pilots were on Nerv laboratories Langley-san has tried to bait her into being jealous on her scores, yes they were objectively better than Rei's, but it's not like she wants to pilot the Eva anyway.
Sitting a couple steps away from her friends and enjoying the afternoon breeze, a shadow interrupted her musings.
"Hello Rei, guten morgen!"
"Guten Morgen Langley-san" Rei replied to the redhead, still not opening her eyes.
"Hey, why so gloomy? This is the gorgeous Asuka greeting you! You should appreciate your good fortune! I'm the most popular girl in school!" The German girl boasted "Surely you can appreciate that between the two of us I am the prettier and better pilot."
"Sure, you can be the best of us Langley-san, go for it."
"You are so unenthusiastic and bland. Hey, the other one's here too, isn't he?"
"Other one?" Rei finally opened her eyes, seeing the readhead look around like a maniac.
"What are you, stupid? I'm talking about the First Child, of course!"
"Oh, Ayanami-kun" Rei knows that he's literally around the corner, having sat down close but separate from them like she was with the boys, but he was out of Langley-san's field of vision. She does not want to sack him with her, knowing that he just came back from the hospital bay today.
"Hey Langley-san?"
"What is it?"
"I think I saw him going to the cafeteria when the break started, I don't know if he's there right now though."
"You should've said something earlier idiot! Let's go find him" She was fast in pulling on Rei's wrist to get her to stand, It worked but Rei couldn't help the little hiss and 'ouch' that came out of her. The readhead started pulling her along, but a soft grip on her forearm stopped them in their tracks. Rei turned around to see Ayanami-kun, brows slightly furrowed. Langley-san, with Rei's wrist on hand still, turned around to see what stopped them.
"Oh hello! You must be Shinji Ayanami, the pilot of the prototype!" she finally let go of Rei and flipped her hair, extending her right hand for a shake "I'm Asuka! Asuka Langley Sohryu. I'm the designated pilot of Eva Unit 02. Let's be good friends!"
