Arun's POV:
After having our dinner, I made Pari and Mahi to sleep and sat down near our room's window, my eyes being glued to the gate. I was waiting for Angeline's arrival to apologize for my harsh words. Though it was late at night, I didn't know when I would meet her, if I missed her at that time. So I waited for her arrival. I didn't want to delay my apology.
But she didn't show up till 11 o'clock. I wondered whether she worked overtime on that day. I never knew her schedule. I thought to wait half an hour more, keeping my eyes fixed on the gate. After about 20 minutes, she entered the gate. I immediately stood up and rushed out of our home.
When I came out, she was kneeling down to a lily plant which was in our garden. She was talking something with the flower. I couldn't hear what she was talking with the flower.
But, As I was approaching her, her words started to fall on my ears, ".........Everyone fell asleep. There is no one to admire your beauty. There is no one to care about you. You are admiring the distant moon which is never yours, isn't it?! But, Don't worry. You are not alone. I too fall in the category of you. There is no one to welcome me at midnight, No one to care about me after a long day of work. What to do? Orphans are like the flowers which bloom at night..." She was talking sadly to the flower, caressing the flower gently.
I intervened, as I didn't like the word orphan from her, "Yes.... "
She jerked and looked up. I paused my word, as she jerked.
"Ma....Sir, You? What are you doing here at midnight? I jerked for a moment." She stood up.
"I came to meet you only," I said.
"For what?"
"I will say. Before that, Let me say something. Yes, Orphans may be similar to the flowers that bloom at night. There may be only a few to witness their real beauty. But, There is no doubt that they are beautiful. Isn't it? Whether the world admires them or not, it doesn't matter. Their beauty matters!" I said.
"Yes, I know it. I was about to say this only to the flower. But, you intervened," She said.
I nodded and said, "And, You are not an orphan. We are here for you."
"Oh, That's why, you yelled at me, as if I am an ugly dog who entered your beautiful home. Don't spin tales, sir." She smiled sarcastically.
"Hey, I didn't think of you as a dog and all." I widened my eyes, as her words were sharp. Her words conveyed she was really hurted by my words which made her overthink.
"Oh, If not a dog, did you think of me as a poisonous snake who entered your sweet home?" She asked flatly.
"Ayyo, I didn't think anything like that. You are a human. A very good human. I didn't think anything bad about you. You can visit our home as usual," I said helplessly.
"Oh, Glad to know," She said flatly, looking down.
"Angel, I am sorry if I hurted you. But, I didn't intend to hurt you." I admitted.
"Hmm.. " She hummed and stepped forward towards her home.
"What is the meaning of this hmm? Have you forgiven my words or not?" I asked, stopping her.
She turned to me and said, "Mostly, whenever I say something to you, you will just respond with an hmmm...right?! What did you mean by that hmm? My hmm too means the same, sir"
Her words had a retorting attitude. Not only her words, she herself had an attitude. An attitude as if she is the queen of the world. Anyway, I thought about the meaning of my hmm. I found that I just respond with an hmm, whenever I am not able to accept what others say and when I don't want to extend the conversation.
