Arun's POV:

The day rolled down to night.

We completed all the rituals, celebrations, and the children's home visit and we came back to our home by late night at 10 o'clock. Every guest had gone back to their home. The once bustling house alive with laughter and chatter, now stood in a serene silence. We got down from the car and I lifted Pari in my arms, who had fallen asleep by now. Angel lifted Mahi in her arms, who also fell asleep.

As we walked inside the home, Amma suggested, "Angel, Arun, let the children be with me and Krishna tonight. You both spend time together."

While my face flushed, Angel intervened, "Why, ma? Let them be with us as always."

Amma passed a tender smile at her. "Angel, you are married today. You both have stepped into a new, yet an important chapter of your life. You might want to discuss a lot with each other. You might want to know better about each other. So spend time with each other till you feel sleepy. Let children be with us."

Angel replied innocently, "We know about each other well, ma. And, if I want to discuss something, I will discuss it with him any time when our children are sleeping. Not by sending the children out."

I didn't know whether to smile or pout. I was just standing there like a stone, leaving all the decisions to Angel herself.

Amma passed a helpless look at appa. Appa sighed and said flatly to Angel, "We are not telling you to send the children out. We are telling you to leave the children with us for a while. Give Mahi to Payal. We will take care of them." He got Pari from me.

"Appa..." Angel was about to say something.

"I said give Mahi to Payal," He repeated, his stern voice leaving no room for an argument.

Silenced by his stern voice, Angel pouted and passed Mahi to amma. "Change their clothes, ma," she said.

Amma nodded.

Appa turned to me and smiled warmly. "Take care of her."

The same words "take care of her" which he said when I married Diya. Those simple words had a lot of deep meaning which I could understand then, and also now.

"Like my baby," I promised, passing a warm smile at Angel.

Angel's face bloomed with a smile and she held my upper arm with both of her hands happily, her eyes exhibiting the feel of safety. The same safety which Pari exhibited in the morning.

Amma, Appa, Vijay and Sree shared smiles with each other, the peacefulness visible in all of their eyes. Those peaceful eyes conveyed their love for me which filled me with a serenity.

"Okay, You go to your room. Good night," Appa said. Following him, everyone wished a good night and walked to their room.

"Mama, let me come to your room after changing this gown. It's pricking." Angel made a face, holding her wine red party gown.

"Okay." I smiled.

She walked upstairs to her room.

I turned to my room. On reaching my room, I picked a white shirt and black pants and walked to the bathroom. I wanted to take a bath, because I was sweating like hell. The slim fit wine red blazer which I wore, matching with Angel's and our children's wine red gowns had literally burned me while the summer was approaching. That was the first time I ever wore a blazer and I hated it. Even the winter coats would be better than a blazer, it seemed. I decided not to wear a blazer again and shed off my most hated cloth, letting the air brush my body. Then I stood under the shower, letting the water flow through me, the pressure in my body reducing.
