Arun's POV:

As the evening shadows embraced the earth, I said to Angel, "You take care of Mahi and Pari. Let me go and buy some vegetables and start preparing a special dinner as Santhosh is coming."

Pari exclaimed, "Oh, Man Angel is coming here for dinner?"

Me and Angel laughed. "Yes."

She nodded her head excitedly as if her friends were coming to play and added, "And, Appa... You do a haircut and trim your beard. When guests are coming, you should look the best. Vijay mama taught me."

I took a deep breath, as I was not in the mood to groom myself. "Ammu ma, I will do it later."

Angel intervened, giggling, "When, Mama? After your beard reaches your feet??"

I faked a frown, "No. After my beard reaches one kilometer length."

"I like this joke." She teased and added, "You are looking the best always, mama. It's okay to be like this, if this is your usual appearance. But you don't have this much beard in your old photos. I guess you are not taking care of yourself now. Haircutting is not a grooming act. It's a self caring act. You may not want to groom yourself for some reasons. But self care should not be stopped for any reasons. Self care is necessary so that you can be healthy, so that you can care for your loved ones."

She made me dumbfounded. Though I had a light stubble when Diya was alive, I didn't know why I kept it growing after Diya's demise. I just didn't feel like trimming it. In fact, I didn't want to do anything. I liked to lay down on the bed, staring at the ceiling, drowning in my Diya's memories with tears. But now, I was coming out of the grief slowly and Angel's words slowly reached my mind. Yes, I needed to care for myself so that I can be healthy to care for my children.

When I was in my own thoughts, Pari protested, "Yes, Aunty is right. Trim now." She paused and ordered Angel, "Aunty, you too protest. Trim now."

Angel laughed and joined her. "Yes. Trim now."

I smiled. "Okay."

Angel widened her eyes. "Is it?? You said okay soon?? I expected tantrums from you."

I gritted my teeth, faking a frown. "I don't show tantrums much. I am obedient most of the time. It's you who shows tantrums more than a child. A special brain is needed to handle you only. Not me."

"True." She grinned. "Okay, I will take care of the children. You go, do the haircut and buy the necessary things to prepare dinner."

I nodded with a smile and turned to Pari. "Ammu ma, You can stay with aunty na?"

She nods. "Yes, pa. But come soon."

"Yes. I will come back within an hour," I assured, shifting my eyes to Angel. "And, If Mahi wakes up..."

She intervened, extending her fingers one by one. "If Mahi wakes up, milk is in the fridge. Warm it and feed her. Don't let her lay down before she burps. If she cries, check whether she urinated and change her dresses. If her cry persists, lift her and walk on the balcony. Or switch on the colorful musical toys. Or make her lay down in the swing and sway it, singing any songs. Right, mama?" She said in a single breath and took a deep breath.

I couldn't help but laugh. "You are really a fast learner."

"Yes." She grinned.

"Hmm, let me go and come back. You lock the door." I smiled and walked out of the room.

It took almost an hour to get my haircut and to complete shopping. When I came back home, riding my two-wheeler on the footpath of our garden, I could see Angel, sitting on our garden's swing.
