Arun's POV:
Few hours passed. I couldn't sleep after hurting Angel. I was just laying on my bed, intertwining my fingers, staring at the rotating ceiling fan, my eyes shedding tears without even my knowledge. Angel's words, "Some bonds are simply destined to be. Ours is such a bond. It's a cosmic plan I met you. But even if the universe plans to separate us, I will not let that plan succeed. I will be with you forever. I will be with you as your hope to rise again whenever you feel defeated." flashed in my mind, wrenching my heart. I killed an innocent girl who tried to give rebirth to me. I destroyed an innocent girl's smile who tried to make me smile. I seized an innocent girl's hope who tried to give hope to me. I hurt her. But the pain was more intense for me than her.
I wanted to scream just like the way I screamed when I heard about Diya's demise while waiting outside the ward. But how could I scream when I was surrounded by our family? How could I answer them, if they asked the reason for my scream? All I could do was, suppressing my pains and screams inside me till my throat burned, till my tongue dried, till my heart shattered into tiny pieces.
Suddenly my ears received Amma's scream, "Krishna, come and see here."
Her scream had a tone of panic attack. I jumped out of the bed, wiping my teary face and rushed out of my room.
Appa, Vijay and Srisha too rushed out of their rooms respectively, and reached the portico from where we heard Amma's scream.
As we all reached the portico, amma passed a panicked look at all of us and stammered, passing a letter to appa. "Angel left the home. This letter...."
I widened my eyes, grabbing the letter immediately, my heart racing at the speed of the train. The letter read,
Dear Amma, Appa, Vijay and Srisha,
I thank you all for providing shelter to me for the last two years. I thank you all for tolerating me and giving me unconditional love. I thank you all for taking your time to clear my subject doubts patiently. I was able to pass the NEET exam because of you all. But, I am not able to study MBBS. I am getting depressed while studying medicine. I seriously want to study at least for all the efforts you took for me. But, I am not able to study. Though I tried my best to study, I couldn't. I will not be able to see you all with this guilty of spoiling all your efforts. So, I am going far away from you all. Please, don't worry about me. The world is large in size. I am just a dust sized particle when compared to the size of the world. I will definitely get a shelter to live in this vast world. I will always live with the lovely memories you all gave me. I will be missing you all. Especially Pari and Mahi. But no worries. When I was able to live without my mom, I will be able to live without you all, too.
And, Dear Arun Mama,
I know very well how lovingly your family looked at me. But I really don't know how you looked at me. But I promise, I really looked at you as my friend, as a form of my mom, as my god. I thank you specially for trying to light up my life by supporting my education financially. You didn't expect anything in return for your financial help. All you needed was, only a promise from me that I should fulfill Diya akka's dream. I too promised you. But, some promises are made without realizing what they really are. I made such a promise. I am sorry for not being able to fulfill the promise. But, I guess, it is not a big problem for you. There are thousands of skilled students in the world who are struggling to get an opportunity. You can find any other skilled student and make them study to fulfill Diya akka's dream. You can find an alternative. Alternatives are easy to find.
You spent nearly 40k for my spoken English classes, computer classes and for my medical college admission. I don't have that much money to return to you, whichever you spent for me. I have only 12k and my two gram gold ring with me. I have kept it with this letter. Please take it. And I kept the saree and accessories in your rental home's wardrobe, whatever you gifted me for my birthday. Please, take everything.
