Arun's POV:

"Shall we go?" I asked, as I paid the bill and bought some chocolates and some more sweets for Pari, as Santhosh told me to buy with his money.

"Yes, pa." Pari nodded.

I looked at Angel.

"I have work. You carry on." She replied.

Pari intervened, "Aunty, You told me that you are tired and you will be alright, if you eat and sleep, right? Where are you going now? You should take a rest na?"

For the first time, I felt good for my smart daughter's round up questions. We always feel happy when the question is in our favor. Isn't it? But, I didn't know whether the answer would be in my favor. I turned my eyes to Angel again in an eager to know how she was going to answer my smart daughter's questions.

Angel replied, "I... I feel alright after having food, kuttima. Now, I have to find a job. There is one more cafe and bakery in this area. Let me inquire for any vacancies there, too. Then, I will take a rest. You go to your home with Appa. I will come back within an hour."

"Job?? You and Appa went to coaching class na. Appa said, you are going to become a doctor. Why are you going to job now?" She shooted her next question.

Angel took a deep breath and said, "Yes. We went to a coaching class. They taught the lessons too. But, I am not able to understand anything. I can't study. I am not suitable for studies. Even if we are dull in studies, we will definitely have a skill. We should try to progress in life, using our skills. As my skills is in baking, I am going to job itself."

I frowned at her lies.

Pari nodded sadly and said, "But, Take rest today, aunty. Go and search a job tomorrow."

"No, kuttima, I have to find a job. I have commitments. Though money is not too much important, it is important for our survival. Every second is important for a person like me who doesn't have anyone to take ca...."

Pari intervened, "Aunty, I am here for you. Whenever you need someone, run to me." She kept both of her hands on her chest and added on, "I am here for you. Don't talk like this."

Angel's face immediately changed emotionally, her eyes forming tears. How can her heart be a rock in front of Pari and her words? Even the real rock would melt in front of Pari's cuteness, innocence and love. Angel was just a piece of cake for her. She melted her heart. Angel gulped the lump in her throat and blinked her eyes, gathering all her will to control her tears. I could understand the emotions when someone says, "I am here for you" to a lone person. I wanted her to cry and let her emotions flow. But, she controlled her tears.

"Tell me, Aunty. Will you come with us and take a rest today??" She asked.

She nodded her head. Finally, Pari managed to break her stubborn streak which I couldn't do. What to do? I don't have Pari's cuteness or innocence! All I have is stupidity!

Pari smiled. "Come. Let's go," She held her hand and led Angel towards the cab. I walked behind them, feeling proud to have such a lovable daughter who is so much compassionate. I didn't know whether the compassion was in her blood or it is because of Diya's teaching or both. But, I can't deny that she was growing more human.

Angel opened the cab door and got in. Pari got in after her. I got in after Pari and closed the door.

"Shall we go, sir?" The driver asked.

"Yes," I replied.

The car started to move forward. I was silently looking outside the window, glancing at those buildings and shops which were moving backward.
