"Dal?" I mumbled.

"Mhmm."

It was almost two in the morning, and I felt bad for waking Dallas up like this, but I can't help it.

"What's everyone gonna think if they find out that we're together again?" I bit my lip in the dark room.

"Fuck what everyone thinks." Dallas sighed, running his large fingers through my hair.

I decided not to bother him any longer and just let him sleep. I should know how Dal gets when he's tired- he'll say anything out of drowsiness. Besides, we both had a pretty wild day, arguing and then making up.

As I felt Dallas' chest rise and fall underneath me, I fought to keep my eyelids open, eventually shutting them and letting sleep take over my body.

I stretched as the warm sunlight flooded Dallas' bedroom.

Speaking of Dallas, his heavy arm slung over my small waist. He looked so cute sleeping, almost angelic, even though he's far from the definition. His jaw slacked as his lips parted, his breathing soft and delicate.

This is Dallas' most fragile and calm state. When sleep takes over his body and he becomes vulnerable and almost dainty despite his sharp and broad features.

Softly straddling his hips, I held myself up and planted gentle kisses along his jawline, leading up to behind his earlobe and finding my way back down. I quickly paused my movements as Dallas fidgeted underneath me, his eyebrows furrowing before he relaxed again, his breathing slowing back down.

Lowering my head to his neck, I placed a kiss on his sweet spot before lightly biting on his smooth skin. I decided to keep moving when I heard him suddenly groan quietly.

"Baby, what are you doing?" I could hear his smirk before I even saw it, not that I paid attention to it.

I immediately pushed my lips onto his, biting his lower lip. Dallas wrapped his strong arms around me in effort to pull me closer, if it was even possible. I took a fistful of his soft hair and tugged on it lightly, and I could hear him take a sharp breath as I did. Teasingly, I pulled my body away from his and rolled off the bed.

"C'mon, you just left me like that?"

"Yep, gotta get ready. Can I borrow a sweater?" I changed the subject, looking at him lying helplessly on the bed.

"Yeah, go ahead."

Searching through Dallas' messy drawers, I settled on a navy blue sweater that I had to roll the sleeves up so they wouldn't reach past my arms.

When I finished getting ready, which really only took five minutes, I walked out the bathroom to see Dallas already dressed and waiting.

"Ready, princess?" He asked, standing.

I nodded silently and he instinctively wrapped his arm around my shoulders, walking me out of Buck's place.

"Knock, knock!" I said, walking into my brothers house.

"Hey, where were you yesterday, you said you'd meet us- oh," Pony cut himself short when his eyes met Dallas', "Alright then."

"Hey, Ponyboy. Over at my place I have a book that I found, I don't know if you want it though." I offered.

"I'll take it. What book is it?"

"To Kill A Mockingbird, have you read it?"

"Yes, but I don't have my own copy. Thanks." He smiled, kissing my forehead.

I've always hated my height compared to Pony's. He's younger than me, he shouldn't be so tall. Or maybe I shouldn't be so short. Either way.

"Elizabeth!" I heard a loud voice.

Soon enough Sodapop's body collided with mine as he put me into a bone-crushing hug, like I haven't seen him just yesterday.

"Sodapop!" I shouted, mocking him, "Why are we so excited to see me?"

"I don't really know!" He yelled in my ear.

"Ignore him, he's got a sugar rush." Darry told me, rolling his eyes.

I found my way out of Soda's hug and sat on the couch with the rest of the gang. We all sat around watching cartoons, except Darry, who was reading the paper.

"Hey, is everyone off today?"

Everyone collectively said 'yes' which was surprising. I didn't think we'd all have the day off.

"Well then, we should all go out tonight." I proposed.

They all stared at me, wordlessly. I don't know if they were silently agreeing or disagreeing.

"What?" I asked, "We can't go out as a family?"

"I say we do it." Two-Bit suggested.

"Thanks, Two. Y'all can pick up chicks or we can go eat at Jay's. I get discount."

"You get a discount at Jay's? How?" Steve pondered.

"Steve, any local diner that sees Lizzie C. in their restaurant is going to give her a discount." I smiled pridefully.

"Alright then," Darry rolled up his newspaper, "we're all heading to Jay's tonight."
