If you can see the photo, this is Dr.Nick ---->>
Owen and I quickly made our way to the lab. Once inside, we were taken down to the control room. Since I was still a bit damp from Owens stupid trick, I got a few odd looks, but they didn't really bother me very much.
"Erin, Owen, glad you could make it." Claire greeted us.
"So, what did you need?" Owen asked from behind me.
"We'll show you." She waved her hand and we followed her to a computer that Lowery was sitting by.
I gave him a small wave and then I drew my attention to the computer screen. Claire gave a nod and Lowery pressed play for a video. It was one of our security camera from the Gallimimus valley. It was a bit staticky from what I saw, so I just shrugged.
"What are we supposed to be looking at?" I asked as I looked back and forth from Claire and Lowery.
Lowery let out a sigh and pointed to the east corner of the screen. "Just look closely." He stated.
I nodded my head and motioned for him to hit play. When he did, I actually saw what he was telling is to look for. In the background, though it didn't really come up well, was the outline of a figure looking around before running off.
"Who was that?" Owen asked and he stood up with a questioning look on his face.
"We don't know yet." Claire stated as she looked up from her phone with a frown.
"So why call us? We're not security." I told her as I crossed my arms with an annoyed look on my face.
"This is why we called you." Dr.Nick suddenly appeared from behind me and he held out a photo.
It was a photo of a Triceratops lying down on its side.
"Why are you showing me a picture if a sleeping Triceratops?" I looked at Dr.Nick with raised eyebrows.
"That's the thing, it's not sleeping..."
"No..." I looked at him with wide eyes. "There's no way." I shook my head in disbelief.
"I'm afraid so, we found her like this when one of the workers was making his rounds." Claire informed me.
"How did it happen?" Owen asked and he put a comforting hand on my shoulder, giving it a small squeeze.
"It's brain had been enlarged." Dr.Nick told us as he pushed his glasses up. "We haven't figured out the cause yet."
"Who found her?" I asked. "What was the workers name?"
"Um..." Claire picked up another file and looked inside. "Daniel Weldon."
"Had the Triceratops been acting weird?" I asked. "Was there any indication of distress?"
"Other than lazing around like most of them do, no, nothing weird at all." Lowery told me, looking away from his computer.
"Thank you, for telling me." I gave them a sad smile and I began to walk out.
"Erin, we will find out what happened." Dr.Nick stopped me by grabbing my shoulder with a reassuring smile on his face.
I offered him another sad smile and grabbed Owens hand before walking out. When we walked outside I climbed into the passenger side of my jeep and tossed Owen the keys.
"You okay?" Owen asked as he glanced my way.
"How does something like that just happen?" I threw my hands in the air. "A Triceratops doesn't just drop dead over night!"
"I know, it'll be okay." Owen placed a hand on to my knee. "But our main problem is who that guy was." He reminded
"I don't know." I shrugged and I grabbed Owens hand again. "And I hope for his sake he didn't do anything to that Triceratops." I grumbled.
"Yeah, knowing what you'll probably do to him, me too."
I gave Owen a playful glare and leaned my head on to the window. I'm being serious though, if the Triceratops death wasn't an accident, and someone hurt her, they will be paying for what they did.
