Will's POV

I was standing at the nurse's station looking over my patient's chart. "It doesn't make sense," I nodded. "Let's run some more tests on my patient in 4, Maggie."

"You got it," Maggie stated.

"Dr. Halstead," Dolores stated. "Your sister was just brought in."

"What?" I asked. I followed Dolores to the room. "CJ?"

"Come on, CJ!" Natalie stated as she was giving her CPR. "Don't give up!"

"BREATHE DAMN IT!" April exclaimed.

"CJ?" I asked, getting closer. "How long has she been unresponsive?"

"She was brought in this way. We did the emergency c-section to save her baby," April replied. "There's clear signs of physical assault."

"She isn't breathing, Will," Maggie nodded. "There's only so much I can do."

"No," I nodded as I started on the CPR.

"Will, stop," Natalie tried to stop me. "Listen to me!"

"She's my sister," I replied as I continued. "I'm not letting her die." I felt for a pulse. "Come on, CJ. Wake up."

"There she is," Maggie stated, looking at the monitor. CJ started making small movements. "She's back."

"Will?" CJ asked.

"CJ, can you hear me?" April asked.

"Yeah," CJ stated. "What about my baby?"

"Per our private conversation, months ago, we did an emergency c-section to save her," Natalie nodded. "We almost lost you to your injuries and I know you wanted us to save her if we could."

"Could someone call Jay?" CJ asked. "Please?"

"Yeah," Maggie nodded. "April will get you cleaned up."

"Are we moving her to ICU?" April asked.

"Are you crazy?" Maggie asked. "No, she's staying right here in the ED."

"Thanks," CJ replied. She grabbed my hand. "Thank you, Will."

"I wasn't giving up," I smiled. "I'll check up on you after my rounds." I checked on my patients and saw Jay walk in. "Jay."

"Is she okay?" Jay asked.

"She's resting," I nodded as we stopped outside her room. "Which is good."

"Does anyone know what happened?" Jay asked.

"No, but there are signs of assault," I signed. "We finally just got her stabled. She's not in the right mind set to be interrogated right now."

"What type of assault?" Jay asked.

"Nothing sexual," I nodded. "We know it's physical." I started getting a code blue alert. "Shit! CJ!" I started on CPR. "Don't give up, CJ." We got her back. An hour passed and she was stabled. No alerts. Jay stayed with CJ in her room. I watched from the nurse's station. "Damn."

"CJ is still stabled," Ethan stated. He looked at me. "She coded twice within 15 minutes, Will."

"She's fine," I looked at him. "I know she will be fine."

"If she codes again, I'm calling it," Ethan replied.

"Fine," I nodded. I went to CJ's room. "Jay?"

"I need to find out what happened," Jay stated. "What about the baby?"

"We saved your daughter," I replied. "She's in the NICU. Did you guys talk about names?"

"TK Halstead," Jay looked at me "Taylor, if it was a girl, Tyler for a boy."

"And the K?"

"Kennedy," Jay nodded.

"I'll let the nurses know," I nodded.

"Is she dying?"

"No," I replied.

"I can't lose her yet," Jay held CJ's hand. "Not like this."

"You won't," I put my hand on his shoulder. "I promise."

Jay's POV

"If she wakes up and I'm not here, call me," I stated.

"Jay, I think she would want her husband here when she wakes up," Will stated.

"I'm gonna find the people that did this," I replied. I drove to Firehouse 51. I saw the messed up ambo in the bay. I walked in and saw Violet with an ice pack to her head. "Violet, what happened out there?"

"Your wife saved my life," Violet replied. "We were ambushed. I told CJ to get into the ambo." I looked at her. "CJ told me no matter what happens, just keep driving."

"What happened?" I asked.

"She was in the back and I was driving. One of the guys were able to get inside. CJ threw open the door and tackled the guy out," Violet stated. "I just did what I was told. I kept driving."

"Well, when you left her behind, she was physically assaulted and the doctors had to do an emergency c-section to deliver our baby," I replied. "Our daughter is at least 3 months early, and now CJ is fighting for her life."

"What?" Severide asked.

"She coded twice within 15 minutes," I stated. "If she codes again, they're gonna try to resuscitate her, but if they can't get her back in a certain amount of time, they're gonna call it." Severide put his hands behind his head. "Why don't you guys just help me catch these guys that did this to her? Violet, I'm sure there are some identifying markers on these guys that can help."

"I'll come to the precinct after shift," Violet nodded. "If there's a sketch artist, I can definitely get you a sketch of one of the perps."

"Doesn't the ambo have a camera?" Joe asked.

"Actually, yeah," Violet pointed. "I'm sure it got a shot of a few of the guys."

"Perfect," I nodded. My phone beeped and I looked at it. "I'm going to check the footage." I put my phone away. "CJ's awake."

"That's good news, right?" Stella asked.

"Yeah, but my wife went through trauma that I wish I could've protected her from," I stated. I went and checked the footage on the ambo. "I know your faces now, you bastards." I got a photo and went to the hospital. I walked into CJ's room and just embraced her. She just cried into my shoulder. "I'm here now, baby. I'm right here."

"I'm so sorry," CJ whispered. "It's my fault TK's early."

"No, baby. It's not your fault," I nodded. "You did what you had to for your friend to get out alive." She held me tighter. "CJ, is there something you're not telling me?"
