CJ's POV

The alarms went off and I got into the ambo with Violet driving. "Have I told you that I'm glad to be back?" I asked.

"The past 4 months you've been here," Violet smiled. "I'm glad to have you back. We've been using the floater pool and none of them were right. Especially the last one, Lennox." I looked at her. "He kept undermining me and I'm the PIC. He even used the term new PIC in front of a patient."

"He did not!" I replied.

"He did and the person who was over our patients care no longer wanted me to care for the patient," Violet sighed. "We ended up dispatching another ambo to our location, and guess what? The patient died."

"That wasn't your fault, it was his," I nodded. We got on scene. "This is a big one."

"Squad, primary search," Boden states. "61, set up for triage?"

"I think we should wait, Chief," Violet replied.

"Hey, Chief," Severide's voice came over the radio. "lt's a recovery."

"Alright, Severide," Boden nodded. "Clear out!" Everyone came out of the building. Violet and I went to the house. "CJ?"

"Yes?" I asked.

"My office, please," Boden stated. I followed him to his office and he closed the door. "Do you like working at 51?"

"More than anything," I nodded. "What is this about?"

"OFI has a management position opening up and your name is on that short list," Boden stated. "It's a good 7:45 to 3:45. I know you said you wanted to bring your daughter to Chicago."

"Thank you for the offer, Boden, but l am fine where I'm at," I nodded. "And I found a great nanny that can start as soon as she gets here and care for her while I'm at work."

"Okay," Boden nodded. Severide opened the door. "Severide."

"I was checking to see if you're done with CJ," Severide pointed.

"Yeah," Boden nodded. "I'll see you guys next shift."

"Let's go," Severide smiled. He walked me as so his car and we got in. "Are you hungry?"

"Are you cooking at home?" I asked. Severide smiled and drove us back to his place. We walked in. "Thank you, again, for letting me stay with you."

"I don't mind," Severide replied. "Stella said it was fine."

"Do you miss her?" I asked. "She's out doing the Girls On Fire program beyond the CFD."

"It's a good program," Severide nodded. "Okay, so what do you want? We have taco stuff, nacho stuff and taco salad stuff."

"Mexican sounds just fine," I stated. There was a knock on the door. "I got it." I open the door and I was taken back by who I saw. "Jay?"

"Hey, CJ," Jay stated.

"When did you get back?" I asked. "Who told you where I was?"

"I got back not too long ago," Jay replied. "Why didn't you tell me you were in Chicago?"

"You didn't tell me you were," I stated.

"CJ, I thought you were going so help," Severide stated.

"I'll be right there, Sev. Uhm, I'm sorry, Jay. I gotta go," I replied. "But I'll take you out for coffee tomorrow for your birthday." I closed the door. "What do you need help with?"

"We're doing nachos," Severide smiled. I walked over and he handed me the aluminum foil. "Go ahead and cover the table."

"I love your nacho nights, but we're having this for breakfast," I stated. I covered the table. "All done." I scattered the chips and the ingredients all over the table. Once Severide got done browning the meat, he strained the grease and poured it right on top. "Uhm, we're two people. Are we going to finish this much food?"
