"Hi!" I squealed and set my phone on my dashboard. "Hi!" she said, matching my energy even though I had been the one not moving for days straight. "Where ya going?"

"To the mall, wanna meet me there?" I said cheerfully.

"You sure you can afford it?"

"It'll just be one treat before I get my job."

Silence hit the phone so hard I was almost worried my screen was cracked. "I know how you can get addicted to things you like."

"Like yooooou?"

"Exactly. I'll come to monitor you. And also, because I'm very bored." She paused. "And I missed you!"

"It's been two days," I laughed.

'Yeah, imagine how 4 years was," she whined.

"I don't have to imagine. It was the worst thing. I was so alone," I said dramatically.

"Which is why I have to come to that mall with you, to make sure you don't get a new friend to replace me!"
