I clicked "go live" once again. This was my fourth stream, and I was excited to meet some new fans who had sent me questions.

Clicking down my "starting soon" stream, I watched chat flood in. "Hey, everyone! Welcome, welcome! Thank you all so, so much for 10,000 followers. I'm doing a Q&A stream today, in case you didn't read the title. I've picked out some specific DMs, and then I'll look through chat."

The chat in question filled up with support. "Oh, and there's a tiny twist," I told them. "The questions were picked out by Nick."

Pulling out my notecards, written by him, I spoke into the microphone to the ecstatic viewers. "Happyshipper11 says, 'what's the relationship between you and nick? The way he looked at you was a little more than friendly 🤔'"

I put the card down and sighed, hoping I wasn't blushing. "Wow. Okay, I see how this stream is going to be. I mean, what do I expect from someone named "happy shipper"?

And the crowd goes wild, I thought. What do I say? What if Nick's watching? Does he have Twitch?

"I- He's–" I paused, thinking of my words. "We have this joke where we're a pretend couple. I think he wishes it's real, though."

I silently read the next card, before putting my giggling face into my palm. "Marvelxhpboyfanfics says, 'R u single? Or r u dating Nick?' What am I to you guys?" I laughed. "What happened to 'What's your favorite color?' I am so, so single, just like he is. I guess I understand why the shippers out there are pushing us desparates together, but we are no more than friends."

I looked at the chat. Most messages were disappointed, some denying me, and some asking questions such as "when's your birthday?"

"Finally, a sensible one in chat, since these notecards are extremely similar to each other. My birthday is December 15th. That's when I'll be 21."

"Yeah," I muttered, after reading those chats, which popped out to me, out loud. "Yeah, he probably is. He's been talking about some girl he likes, though– probably a friend I don't know."

I silently messaged my mods to ban this user from my chat. Their simping gave me the creeps.

Did I have what it took to be a streamer?
