Arlong's Revenge & The Misty Mermaid

After earning his third Orange league gym badge, Ash was now getting ready to sail off with the Straw Hats again to find the fourth and final gym. It wasn't long before Misty came over to him. Misty: "So you're leaving already huh?" Ash: "Yeah... and I'm guessing you're staying here?, like how Brock decided on staying with Professor Ivy?" Misty: "Well... as much fun as it was traveling with you in Kanto, I can't leave Mahri and Rudy, they're like family to me now, and besides, I don't really think you need me to babysit you anymore as you got Luffy and his crew for that role." Ash: "What do you mean babysit me?!, I'm about the same age as you!" Misty: "Maybe, but you still act like a little kid, even Togepi acts a bit more mature than you." Ash: "I do not... wait... speaking of Togepi... where is she?" asked Ash, before he sees what looked like a small Pokémon with an egg shell around it's body, playing with Pikachu and Mew. Misty: "There she is, but who's that Pokémon with her and Pikachu?" Ash: "That's Mew, one of the Pokémon I've caught while traveling here on the Orange islands, along with Lapras and Snorlax." said Ash, before Mew started to glow and changed into another Togepi, much to the original's surprise, along with Misty as well. Misty: "It can change form like a Ditto?!" Ash: "Yeah, I was surprised too, but I guess there's still so much we don't know about Pokémon." Misty: "Well you're right about that..." suddenly, they both heard the sound of something breaking in the kitchen, and went off to investigate, only to find that the Straw Hats were there, and Luffy had his mouth full of food. Ash: "What happened?" Sanji: "Luffy here had the nerve to steal some food here." Luffy: "I was hungry!" that was when Rudy and Mahri came in. Rudy: "What happened?" Nami: "Nothing, just Luffy being a glutton again." said Nami, before Chopper noticed a box that had a strange looking fruit inside, with a strange swirly pattern on it. Chopper: "Hey... this is one weird looking fruit... and yet... it seems so familiar somehow..." Rudy: "Oh that, my sister and I found it at sea sometime before the battle, and thought we could try it for lunch." said Rudy, before Jimbei takes a better look at it, and gasped in shock as if he knew what this fruit was. Jimbei: "That's a Devil fruit!" this got everyone's attention, confused at what he meant, at least the Pokémon trainers of course, while the Straw Hats understood on the other hand. Ash: "Devil fruit... you mean like the ones that gave Luffy, Chopper, Robin and Brook their special powers, but also takes away their ability to swim?" Jimbei: "That's right." Luffy: "Oh yeah... it does look a little like the Gum Gum fruit I ate when I was a kid... but it looks a bit different too." Mahri: "Uh... Devil fruit?" Nami: "A type of cursed fruit that gives you special powers, but takes away something of yours in return, like making a deal with the devil, but instead of your soul, it takes away your ability to swim." this made both Mahri and Misty to gulp a little, not liking the idea of not being able to swim anymore. Rudy: "So then... if we took a bite out of that fruit... we would've lost the ability to swim?" Jimbei: "Well that's the normal curse for most Devil fruits... but this one is different." Carrot: "What do you mean?, you know what Devil fruit this is?" Jimbei: "Yes... but only from the stories I've heard on Fish-man island when I was young... this here... is the Human Human fruit, model mermaid." Chopper: "Huh?, but I ate the Human Human fruit." Jimbei: "The normal Human Human fruit yes, but there are different models of that fruit, like the former fleet admiral Sengoku for example, he had the power of the Human Human fruit, model Buddha, which allows him to transform into a giant golden Buddha." Luffy: "Oh yeah... I think I've met him before when I was at Marineford..." Jimbei: Yes... anyway, back on topic, the Human Human fruit, model Mermaid, gives the user to the power to transform into a mermaid, and what really makes it special is that it doesn't take away your ability to swim." Chopper: "Really?!" Luffy: "Aw... that's not fair..." Jimbei: "However... there's still a catch to it... while the user would still be able to swim, it does take away your ability to live on land and you would be stuck in mermaid form for life." Misty: "Whoa... I guess it would give you trouble if you can't live on land anymore." Jimbei: "Yes... but what I don't understand is... how did the Devil fruit ended up here in the first place?" Zoro: "He does have a point, there's no way it came from this island, or this world for that matter as we know Devil fruits came from our world." Misty: "Your world?" Ash: "Luffy and his crew are actually pirates from another world, which ended up here somehow and looking for a way back." Rudy: "Boy... can this day get any crazier?" asked Rudy to himself, before an explosion was heard outside, alerting the group that there was someone attacking the island. Misty: "You had to ask, didn't ya?" this only made Rudy to shrug his shoulders and chuckled in a nervous way, before he and the others went outside to investigate. Once they got to where the source of the attack was, they see a large Gyarados using Hyper Beam at the village. Ash: "It's a Gyarados!" Mahri: "But why is it attacking?!" Rudy: "Whatever the reason is, we gotta stop it!" Jimbei: "I'll handle this!... fish-man karate... thousand brick fist!" shouted Jimbei, before using his Fish-man karate on the Gyarados, which was sent flying back to the sea. But then the group noticed a figure hiding in the smoke and dust from the destruction that Gyarados caused, and then they heard the figure laughing. It wasn't long before the figure started to walk forward, and the smoke and dust started to fade, allowing the figure to reveal himself. Once the figure was finally seen clearly, the Straw Hats, mostly Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Usopp, Jimbei and Nami, gasped in shock and horror, for it turned out to be someone they'd never expected to see again. The mysterious figure turned out to be Arlong (voiced by Chris Rager), an evil fish-man that the Straw Hats defeated back in the East Blue sea of their world, a former crew mate of Jimbei, and the man who made Nami's childhood a living nightmare. Arlong: "Well if it isn't my brother Jimbei, and my navigator who thought she could get away from me forever." Nami: "... Arlong... what are you doing here?!" said Nami, with fear and anger in her voice. Arlong: "Isn't it obvious?, I'm here for revenge on Straw Hat and getting you back as my navigator, after all, I can't take over the East Blue or this sea without your charts." said Arlong with an evil laugh, before Ash took a step forward, glaring at the fish-man. Ash: "Leave her alone!, it's obvious that she doesn't want to go with you!" Arlong: "Ha!, you must be a really brave or stupid boy to try standing up to me." Misty: "Well it's mostly both actually." Brook: "So that's Arlong huh?, the one who made Nami's childhood a living nightmare?" Usopp: "Yeah that's him alright... but how did he ended up here?, I mean shouldn't he be in prison back in our world?" Arlong: "I was locked up in Impel Down after our last fight in Arlong Park, but thanks to Straw Hat and Jimbei causing chaos in there, I was able to escape without anyone noticing, and in the passed 2 years, I've trained myself to get stronger in order to make my revenge a reality, then I found your ship and was about to attack when it got sucked into some whirlpool that somehow got me ended up here in this sea." Carrot: "Whirlpool... hey, he must be talking about the whirlpool that got us here too!" Chopper: "Yeah..." Arlong: "It took me a while to figure out where I was, but I managed to learn how the humans use these creatures they call Pokémon, and the devices they use to capture and tame them, like that blue sea king Jimbei just took down." Rudy: "Sea king?" Robin: "He must be talking about the Gyarados, as there are a lot of sea monsters in our world that were kind of like it, which we call Sea Kings, who would eat a ship and the crew whole." Usopp: "Don't say stuff like that!" Arlong: "Enough talking!, it's time for me to finish what I started a long time ago!" said Arlong, before he was making a stance that shows he was getting ready to attack. Luffy was getting ready to fight too, when Nami put her arm in front of him, telling him to stop. Luffy: "Nami, what are you..." Nami: "It's okay Luffy... I'll take care of him." said Nami, while making an angry glare at the evil fish-man, much to everyone's surprise. Usopp: "Nami!, have you lost your mind?!" Nami: "No... I'm just had enough of this guy hurting the people I care about... and the last time we faced Arlong, I didn't do a thing... but this time's different, as I now have the strength to face him..." Arlong: "Ah, ha, ha, ha!, you certainly grown some backbone since we last saw each other, but it won't change a thing." Nami: "We'll see about that... Zeus, let's go!" shouted Nami, before what looked like a big white cloud with a face came out of her Clima-tact, which was named Zeus (voiced by Kevin D. Thelwell), who happens to be Nami's living weather weapon. Zeus: "Hi Nami!, is there an enemy?" Nami: "Yes... it's Arlong." Zeus: "Hmm... Arlong... you mean that bad fish-man who killed your adopted mother and made you his slave for 8 years before your captain freed you?" Nami: "That's right, and I need your help to take him down." Zeus: "With pleasure, oh by the way, will I get some yummy clouds when the fight's done?" Nami: "Of course you can, but let's eat after we take down this jerk, okay?" Zeus: "Of course!" said Zeus, who didn't noticed the stares he was getting from Ash and the other trainers. Mahri: "Is that... a talking cloud?" Rudy: "Wow... now I've just about seen everything..." Ash: "So that's the cloud Usopp mentioned before..." said Ash, remembering what Usopp said about Nami's weapon having a living cloud inside. So the battle between Nami and Arlong began, and it turns out that the evil fish-man has indeed gotten a lot stronger since his last fight with the Straw Hats, as he has shown to learn some Haki. In this case, Observation Haki, which allows him to sense what his opponent's next move would be, and Armament Haki, which allows the user to be covered in some black colored skin armor that makes the body harder than a diamond and able to hit those with Devil fruit powers, especially those with Logia type Devil fruit powers. However, Nami's weapon turned out to be really tough too, especially with Zeus in the arsenal, as Zeus can use the tips of the weapon to make himself a mace out of himself to hit Arlong in the face. Then Nami tells Zeus to go cloud form, and then unleash a powerful lightning bolt attack to give Arlong the shock of his life. Arlong then tried to throw some water darts at the navigator, but she was able to dodge all of them, much to the others' relief. Mahri: "Wow!, Miss Nami is so cool!" Pikachu: "Pika!" said Pikachu, agreeing to what Mahri said about the navigator. But the battle was not over yet, and Arlong started to get more angry, then an idea came to his head. Arlong: "Alright Nami... let's make this fight more interesting... how about you try defeating me before the life of one of your friends end." Nami: "What are you..." Arlong: "Tentacruel!, come out!" shouted Arlong, before he let out what looked like a big mean looking jellyfish like Pokémon to the scene, and Ash takes out his Pokédex to let the others know what Arlong just sent out. Pokédex: [Tentacruel: The Jellyfish Pokémon, it's numerous tentacles serve as a powerful weapon, it's also known as 'The Gangster of the Sea'.] Zoro: "Looks like that Gyarados wasn't the only Pokémon that Arlong caught while he was here..." Robin: "And by the looks of it, this one is most likely poisonous, which isn't good for us." Franky: "Maybe, but I'm mostly made of super steel, and poison won't work against steel, bring it on!" Arlong: "Tentacruel!, capture one of those humans and drag them into the sea!" shouted Arlong, making everyone gasp in shock as Tentacruel jumped up and had one of it's tentacles coming towards Misty. Rudy: "Misty!, look out!" shouted Rudy, before he pushed her out of the way and ended up getting caught by the Tentacruel instead. Soon, the Tentacruel jumped into the sea, and diving down with Rudy as well, who was trying to hold his breath as long as he can. Mahri: "No!, big brother!" Arlong: "Ah, ha, ha, ha, ha!, let's see how long he'll last before this fight is through." this made everyone have an angry glare at the evil fish-man, and scared for Rudy's well being. Misty knew that she had to do something to save Rudy, but she couldn't figure out how. Then she sees the Devil fruit in Mahri's hands, and an idea came to her. Misty: "Mahri, is that the Devil fruit Jimbei told us about?" Mahri: "Huh?... yeah it is, I guess I brought it here without thinking." Misty: "Listen Mahri, I need you to give me that fruit, maybe I can use it to save your brother." Mahri: "Really?!, oh thank you Misty!, but... how are you gonna use it?" Misty: "You'll see..." said misty, before Mahri gives her the fruit, and without a second thought, she ate it whole, much to the little girl's shock as she just remembered the curse it'll bring. Suddenly, Misty started to have a really disgust expression on her face, due to the fruit tasting so bad, then it was that moment that her body started to glow and the light caught everyone's attention. Once the light faded away, Misty was nowhere to be found, much to Ash's shock. Ash: "Misty?!, what happened to her?!" Mahri: "I don't know, she ate that Devil fruit that Jimbei told us about and she just vanished!" Jimbei: "What?!, she ate it?!" meanwhile, down below the sea, Tentacruel was still dragging down Rudy, when suddenly, a figure appeared and rammed the Jellyfish Pokémon on the head, knocking out out cold, before it grabbed Rudy and swam up back to the surface. When a big splash sound was heard, the Straw Hats and trainers turned to see the source. There at the port was Rudy and what looked like Misty, but with her hair down and with a mermaid tail, in fact, she looked exactly like her mermaid self when she played in a Pokémon water ballet her sisters were doing. Chopper: "Is that... Misty?" Ash: "Why is she in her mermaid costume?" Sanji: "That's no costume... she really is... a mermaid... but she's a bit too young for me though sadly..." Usopp: "That's not important right now!" Arlong: "No way... that girl was a mermaid?!" Nami: "That's the least of your problems!, for I'm about to kick your butt!" shouted Nami, before sending Zeus to use a lightning bolt to zap Arlong like never before, and soon an explosion occurred and sends the evil fish-man out into the sky, flying away without a trace. Ash: "And I thought only Team Rocket do those blast offs..." said Ash, before noticing that Rudy was starting to wake up, who gasped in shock and awe when he took a glimpse of Misty's mermaid form. Misty: "Rudy, are you okay?" Rudy: "I... I don't know... did I die and gone to heaven?... cause I'm seeing an angel of a mermaid that looks like Misty..." said Rudy in awe, before his sister came to him. Mahri: "You're not dead, and that mermaid is Misty." said Mahri, which made Rudy gasped in shock when he realized that the mermaid was his girlfriend. Rudy: "Misty... what happened to you...?" Misty: "I ate that Devil fruit that turns the user into a mermaid in order to save you..." Jimbei: "Misty... are you sure you're alright?, cause remember what I told you about the price, you can't live on dry land again..." Misty: "Well maybe not... but it's better than losing the people you care about... besides, I always loved the sea due to being a water Pokémon trainer." Rudy: "Wow... you look... so beautiful..." this made Misty to blush a little, before Ash came up to the two. Ash: "You look just like your mermaid self in that water ballet you did for your sisters." Misty: "You know... now that you mention it... I do... only this time... I really am a mermaid." Usopp: "Are you gonna be okay?, I mean you're stuck like this now." Misty: "I'm sure I'll manage." Robin: "Well one thing's for sure, you make a really cute mermaid." some time later, after having some lunch, Misty was now on a wheelchair, with a blanket covering her mermaid tail so no one would notice, and Rudy was the one holding it. Ash: "Well Misty, I hope you'll have a bright future, even with your um... condition." Misty: "Thanks, and I'm sure you'll be a Pokémon master, say hi to Brock to me if you see him." Togepi: "Toge, Pi~!" Ash: "Sure thing." Luffy: "Alright, let's go!" said Luffy, as he along with his crew and Ash sail away from Trovita island on the Thousand Sunny, setting off to the next island. Meanwhile, Arlong was on an island, trying to get back on his feet when a large figure appeared in front of him. The sight of the figure made Arlong gasped in shock and shake in fear as he knew who this man was. And before he knew it, the mysterious man used his fist to hammer the fish-man with full force, which was enough to kill him it seems. The mystery man then walked away from Arlong's dead body, and heading off to who knows where, holding what looked like a small treasure chest in his hand.
