Janner looked out the window at the rising sun and thought of his wife and mother. He had felt so horrible for days. Finally, he knew, enough is enough. "Kal tell the guards to stand down. We are going out to find them." Janner said as he turned to his brother. "What? How? We don't even know where to start." Kal said. "We will figure it out." Janner said.

"Im going." Leeli said. Janner and Kal looked at her. Janner shook his head. "No it's to dangerous Leeli." He said. "Janner I don't care what you say but I'm going. I can help." She said with determination. Janner smiled at his little sister and nodded. "Kal what do you say?" Janner asked. Kal looked at his feet. "I.. I don't know." He said.

Artham stood up. "Kal, you should go." He said. Then he looked at Janner. "I'm going to." He said. Kal shook his head. "I don't know Janner. It's dangerous." He said. Janner smiled. "When have we not been in danger? I think we are used to this." He said. Leeli giggled. Kal smiled and shrugged. "Good point... Alright I'll go." He said as he stood up.

"Me to." Arundelle said. "Count me in." Thorn said with a smile. They were all going but there was one problem, the guards were not letting them leave. "I'm the king and I order you to let us go!" Kal screamed at Angus. He just shook his head. "I'm sorry sir but this is for you and the royal family's safety." He said. Kal tried to argue more but he wouldn't budge.

Janner was growing impatient. "Listen to me Angus! Galya, my mother, and my wife are out there and so far this so called, "safety precaution" has done nothing! Any one of us can be taken at any moment! As Throne Warden of Anneria, I order you to let us go." Janner said with his eyes blazing.

Angus stood there and looked at him. "I said no. I'm sorry but I can't let you all go." He said. Leeli pushed Janner out of the way and she said, "Listen, if it was your family out there, wouldn't you want to go find them?" She asked. Angus opened his mouth to object but stopped and then, looked at his hands. "Please. You guys have already tried, now let us try. It's our family out there. They would do it for us. We need to do it first them." She said. Angus big his lip. "Please." Leeli pleaded. Angus sighed. "Okay. Alright I'll let you go." He said after a long pause.

"Thank you." Leeli said with a smile. The Wingfeathers and Thorn grabbed their weapons and made a plan. "We need to blend in. Thorn, you said that everyone was hiding indoors right?" Janner asked. Thorn nodded and said, "Yep. It looks like the kingdom is abandoned."

"That makes it harder. The streets will be empty so we can't just put of costumes and stroll down the street. We need to use the dark alleyways." Janner said. Everyone nodded and clutched their weapons tighter. "We should travel in groups going different ways. That way we can cover more ground. I saw Sara in a cave when Leeli was playing her song. Try to look in caves or dark places that I could've mistaken for a cave." Janner said.

"What are the groups?" Leeli asked. "Well I think that if Lingston wants Anneria, he'll want the Jewels so we need to split up. "Thorn, you go with Leeli and make sure she's safe." Janner said and Thorn nodded. "That leaves Aunt Arundelle and Uncle Artham. Who do you guys want to go with?" Janner asked. Artham thought for a moment. "I'll go with Kalmar." Arundelle said. "Then I'll go with Janner." Artham said.

"Alright it's settled. We will meet back here at sundown. That gives us all day. Stay safe and protect each other." Janner said as he looked at everyone. Soon, they were out and walking in between buildings and in the shadows. Janner clutched his sword tight as he and Artham walked in the dark allies.

"Where do we look first?" Janner whispered. "Let's look on the north part of the island. That's where the most caves are." Artham said. "Alright." Janner said with a nod. They walked in the dark streets for a long time in order to get to forest.

"The caves are that way." Artham said as he pointed North. "I hope we find them." Janner said quietly. Artham turned to face him and said, "We will Janner. We will." Janner smiled and they started to walk again.

After about an hour of silence, Artham spoke and said, "Janner why don't we rest for a bit? Here have some water." Janner obeyed and sat down in the tall grass. "Janner, I am sorry for the way I acted. I never should have called you a child for worrying about Sara. I certainly shouldn't have called you.. Esben. I'm so sorry." Janner looked up at his uncle with wide eyes.

"No it's okay. I really should've acted more like a Throne Warden and less than a child. I wish I could talk to him right now." Janner said with a sigh. Artham put his hand on his shoulder. "Janner, talking to you is the closest I've gotten in years to talking to Esben. You look, talk, and act just like him. It's like I'm looking at him now." He said. Janner smiled and was about to say more but they heard a noise.

They both jumped to their feet and looked around. "Who's there?" Artham asked. "Hello Throne Wardens. It is I. Charles Lingston." He said as he emerged from the shadows of the trees.

"What have you done to our family?" Janner asked as he raised his sword. "Oh they are fine. Too bad they won't get to see you two again. I will get back to them in a moment. All I have to do, is finish you off." He said with a sly smile as he stepped forward.

Janner and Artham got into their stance and Janner sprinted to Lingston with Galya, Nia, and Sara on his mind. He was determined to see them again.

Ok I know this part is awful but I'm sick and not really into it at all at the moment. There are probably a lot of typos to. Give me a break lol. Anyways I wanted to post something so here it is. Hopefully I will feel better when the next one comes out.
God bless and Stay Gold.
