Joong was donning a wedding hanfu the next time he woke up in his dream. He was panicking internally. Dream Joong wasn't doing any better. Their fate was sealed, today was the wedding day. He saw Prince Dunk in the crowd with Phuwin and another person beside him. Dream Joong had remembered that it was Prince Dunk's third brother, Prince Boss. Dream Joong had clenched his fist as he waited for his bride. He had wished Prince Dunk and him had to courage change their fate but yet it had come to this.
The envoy from the Kingdom of the West had entered the hall before the bride. Prince Dunk had noticed a strange aura around them. It was unwelcoming. Even his charm bracelet was ringing.
"San ger, you dian bu dui jing. you xie qi. (third brother, something doesn't feel right. there's an evil aura around them)" Prince Dunk informed Prince Boss. He nodded his head grimly.
The bride was taking slow steps towards dream Joong as she hid her face behind a round fan. Prince Dunk frowned as he realized that she carried the same evil aura as the rest of the envoy. Phuwin and Prince Boss held onto his hand, forbidding him from doing anything rash. It was a wedding with many diplomats from different kingdoms. Not to mention that Prince Joong's father, the King of the North will not take it lightly. But Prince Dunk feared for the Crown Prince's life. Dunk had noticed her sneak attack the moment she got close to dream Joong. He could no longer keep back as he raced towards Prince Joong attacking her with a force to her chest before she could do anything. He brought Prince Joong to safety. A few feet away from her.
Unfortunately, her attack was discreet while Prince Dunk's wasn't. So, it looked as if he had intentionally attacked her and snatched the crown prince, disrupting the wedding ceremony in the process. Only Prince Joong and Prince Dunk saw her attack. Prince Dunk knew it was a trap then. He had played to the rumour and revealed himself as the Crown Prince's secret lover who was trying to ruin the wedding.
"Prince Dunk from the Kingdom of the East, what is the meaning of this?!" Prince Joong's father roared.
"Father, you misunderstood. He-" Prince Dunk had stopped Prince Joong from explaining as it was pointless. The idea had taken root.
"My sincere apology dear King of the North. I mean no harm. I represent myself today and not the Kingdom of the East. I no longer carry my father's name." Prince Joong was shocked by what he declared. Prince Boss and Phuwin clenched their fist. Prince Dunk was sacrificing himself to keep the family name clean.
He conjured his flute.
"What do you think you are doing?!" Joong's father demanded once again.
"I apologize once again but for the safety of your kingdom and your guests. I'm given no choice." Dunk began to play to the tune that trapped the envoy and the princess in place as the pins hidden in their scalp shook to the vibration of his tune. When it was dislodged from scalp, their true form revealed. They were not who they think they were. Their evil aura clear as day and left the guest screaming and running in panic.
"It's the Shadow King!" someone shouted. Dunk had laughed.
"So it was you who tried to frame the Shadow King. I've known the Shadow King for more than a few centuries. Now it makes sense where the rumours were coming from." Dunk had conjured his guzheng, energy force in the shape of arrows emerged as he strummed the strings.
"Pò (break)!" Dunk broke the spell, the monsters who acted as the royalty from the west turned to dust.
"Should have known it was you. You always had a grudge against the Shadow King, you slithering snake." A snake the size of an anaconda appeared from the shadow.
