EP 18 uncovering the past

All his memories came rushing back to him but what shocked him the most was a memory that wasn't his. 

He was watching again. Dream him was still unconscious. He could see Dunk checking his pulse. He looked grim after that. He saw Prince Dunk tapping his own chest in a formation and out came a glowing pearl from his throat. He saw him directing it into dream Joong. He glowed from the process before returning back to normal. He seemed happier after when he noticed the colour in dream Joong's face. He was happy with his pulse. 

Phuwin came into the room with food. When he took notice of Joong and Dunk, he paled.

"What did you do, my prince? You gave him your elixir?! After the millenniums that it took you. You will be helpless without it!" Dunk didn't get to answer him as Pond came rushing in. 

"The king is dead. The second prince has taken the throne and he is coming to kill the crown prince. We need to hide him before he comes." 

"I wouldn't put it pass him that he had planned all of this from the start. That's why there was a breach in security during hei loong's wedding." Dunk said.  Pond scooped dream Joong up but Dunk stopped him. 

" We can't hide him within the region if the second prince has full control of the army of the north."

"What do you suggest?" Pond looked at Dunk in desperation.

"Something drastic." Dunk looked at Pond solemnly. Pond looked at him in confusion.

"Protect him, general Pond. Protect him with your life." Dunk instructed before he started chanting. Pond and Joong had turned into a pair of glowing light before it flew away. Phuwin had no time to react before Dunk grabbed his hand and they ran. They were ambushed the moment they reached the bamboo forest. 

"Where is he?" AJ asked

"Dead as your father announced." Dunk said without emotions. AJ had laughed before he strike Dunk with a blow. It doesn't kill him instantly but the poison laced within it will kill him eventually. It eats at him, draining his life force. Killing him slowly with no way of reviving him. 

"If he is not dead, he will die from a broken heart." AJ had laughed before leaving the both of them. Phuwin had looked at Dunk in concern.

Joong had wanted to charge towards AJ the moment he came to. Pond and Dunk had held him back. 

"All I wanted was Father's love but all he cared about was you. I guess the next best thing would be the throne but that belonged to you. It had always been you!" AJ shouted.

"You think I wanted this?! I would have gladly given you the throne if you wanted it so much."

"What's the fun in that? I want you to suffer." Pond was flung against a tree through the sudden force attack that AJ threw. He strike Joong with a blow next. Dunk had successfully blocked it but blood was dripping out of his mouth.  

"The more power you use, the weaker you get, the faster you die. Is it worth it, Prince Dunk? For all that you sacrificed for him, is it worth it in the end?" AJ looked at Dunk in pity. He admired him for all that he had done for his brother. If he wasn't his brother's lover, perhaps they would have been friends. But it was fated the moment he fell in love with him. 

"You should thank me, brother. If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't have met Prince Dunk." Joong had looked at AJ in confusion.

"At first I thought it would be quick and easy. Spread the rumour about the Shadow King. Make sure you go into the forbidden forest, that would be it. But I didn't expect father to send someone to get you. I sure didn't expect you to fall in love with your rescuer, Prince Dunk. It made everything so much easier. Getting in touch with the Obsidian snake, spreading the rumours about your secret lover. Everything went smoothly from there. The look on father's face when his favourite son failed him. The moment I witness him take his last breath. It was all so satisfying. I just didn't get the chance to kill you. Your lover was just too smart. But that's not an issue now." Dunk covered Joong with his body despite how weak he was. 

"Gou le, Bai Loong. Gou le (that's enough, white dragon. that's enough)" Joong said sadly. He wanted him to know that he remembers. He remembers everything now.    

"Hei Loong (black dragon)..." It was then that it struck Dunk that Joong had remembered his past. 

"Aww... reunion at last. Sad to say that this is all you'll get. How do you plan to fight with the army I have, brother? I am the King of the North after all" It was then that they realized the troop behind AJ. 

"What makes you think that they are alone?" Boss was leaning against a tree not too far from them. 

"San ger... (third brother)" Dunk uttered weakly. He was glad to see him, he would recognize his voice anywhere but he was also afraid for his life. 

"I'm not alone, jiu di (9th brother)" Boss grinned. It was then that Dunk felt his siblings' aura behind him. Even his siblings whom never thought he would be able to see again because they had been exiled. He had smiled in relief. He was glad to be able to see all of them.  

"You want to create war between the North and the East?" AJ asked as he glared at the troop behind them. Dunk was surprised that their father had supported them in this fight. 

"Ah, how can I be so careless. Where's the man of the hour?" Boss asked. There he was, Joong's father coming forth from the crowd where Dunk's siblings stood.

"Father?!" Joong and AJ both exclaimed.

A/N: 

This elixir thingy... I was told it's called an elixir. I was like 😕😕 the image that came to mind when I think of an elixir is like a liquid in a vial.. but whatever. my brain couldn't come out with a better name for it. It's basically the source of mythical creature's/ deity power in most chinese historical fantasy drama I've watched (it goes without saying that there's healing property n power enhancement entity if one were to consume it). It takes years, millenniums to build. Without it they are powerless but Dunk still has a little left because he is ancient in this series and he is also royalty (m making that exception in this series🤣🤣)   

technically Joong does have the power and skills to defeat AJ if he was alone without the troop but then he just recovered his memory. Doesn't mean he recovered the memory on how to use his power and skills. That takes time. imagine downloading millennium worth of info. I doubt I would be able to remember everything. Definitely not in that kind of scenario.
