Nezukos POV:
I've been walking for some time now, noticting a farmer nearby with a basket. I walk towards the farmer, hoping he'd let me take his basket. "Hello sir, would you mind giving me that basket , along with a straw and a bamboo?" I ask, hoping he'd say yes. He nodded, giving me his basket. He goes back to grab some string with bamboo, coming back and giving it to me. "Here." He says. I bring my money out of my pockets. "How much?" I look up at him, holding my hand with money towards him. He shakes his head. "Please, take it as a gift. I cannot allow myself to take your money since the basket has holes." He says, slightly irritating me. "Sir, I insist." I try to give him my money but he just backs away. "No thank you, young lady." "Just take the money!" I thought, taking his hand into mine and slapping the coins into his head, feeling bad as the farmer yelps in pain, but i start running back to a tunnel in which I left my brother at.
I find Tanjiro in the dirt tunnel, seeing he had also dug a hole in the ground, not wanting to see the sunlight. After repairing the basket, I bring it into the tunnel, looking at Tanjiro. "Hey Tanjiro, can you try to see if you can fit inside?" I ask him slowly, unsure if he can understand me. Seeing Tanjiro shrinik in size shocked me as it seems so impossible, his kimono looking like it's too big for him. After he enters the basket, I close it, strapping the basket on my back. "Ow.. this hurts!" I start making my way towards the mountain, noticing a woman nearby. I walk up to her, asking for directions. "Ah, ofcourse.." She starts, giving me directions to where I asked to go to. "...Be careful though, a lot of people who went there have been going missing. Please, be careful." she adds after telling me the directions, walking away.
I look at the setting sun, before back at the path. after a few minutes, i notice a temple. I open the basket, letting Tanjiro get out of it. He starts to salivate at the smell of blood, walking towards it. As I open the door to the temple, I see a demon inside. The demon lunges at me, but i manage to slice his neck with Tanjiro's hatchet. The demon quickly regenerates the deep cut, catching me off guard as he grabs me, but Tanjiro headbuts the demons head off. I let out a sigh of relief, before hearing a thud. Tanjiro kicked the body away from me. The head of the demon looks annoyed.
"Why is a demon helping a lowly human like you?" It asks, frustrated. The head grows arms, attacking me, while the demons body batters Tanjiro, throwing him deep into the forest. With my brothers hatchet attached to his skull, I attack by kicking him in the head, stunning the demon temporarily. With the head attach, I hurl the hatchet at a tree, neutralizing the threat. I run towards Tanjiro, seeing the demons body kicking Tanjiro towards the drop of a cliff. I tackle the body, falling over the edge with the demons body. Tanjiro manages to catch me, while the body falls on hard rocks below, The demon's head gets knocked unconscious after feeling that pain.
Armed with a knife, I find the head unconscious but alive, prepearing to kill it. "I can save others by killing this being, but.." I stay hesitant, afraid to kill it. A man appears behind me. "You cannot kill it with a knife. Those only die when cut off with a certain sword made with a certain ore, or by holding it back till sunrise." I look at the demon with fear, still not wanting to hurt it.
"You seem too kind. There is no hesitating when you can save people's lives by killing a demon."The man says. The demon wakes up and tries to grab me, but luckily, the sun rises and the light burns the demon to ashes, scaring me as it might happen to my brother if I'm not careful enough. I run towards my brother, relieved to see him hiding in the basket in the temple, hiding from the sun.
After burying the dead from the temple, the man introduces himself as Keizo. "You are the boy Hakuji sent to me, right?" I nod in agreement. "I suppose, well I am Nezuko Kamado, and the demon in the box is my brother, Tanjiro Ka-" I reply before getting cut off. "What will you do if your brother eats a human?" His question catches me off guard as I try to find an answer for it but unable to as I never thought about it before. "I see. The only thing you would be allowed to do is to kill him, as he would be classified as an enemy, and then yourself. That is what it means to travel with a demon." I nod quietly. "I understand."
"You must make sure it never happens."He adds, as I now acknowledge the threat my brother really is to humans. "Follow me." Says Keizo, before running off, catching me by suprise. I quickly put the basket on my back, running after him. "H-hey, wait up!"
In the middle of the day, I am chasing Keizo, who seems so slow yet so fast. "Master, how are you s-" I try to ask before getting rudely interupted. "No talking." He speeds up, which really frustrates me.
As the sun set, we finally reach Keizo's house at the foot of the mountain. Struggling to catch my breath, I ask. "Are we.. done now?" "We have only just started, and you're already tired?" His answers shocks me, making me let out a loud "WHAT?"
With Nezuko safe in Keizo's house, me and my new teacher make our way up the mountain. Suddenly, Keizo stops, telling me to make it down the mountain before dawn. He quickly vanishes, leaving me alone in the mountain. I start feeling slightly paranoid as I feel like somebody is watching me, even tho I know for a fact that I am alone.
I start walking down the mountain, noticing that there are numerous traps placed around on the mountain. After being caught in them several times, I start to realize. "If I continue getting hit like this, I won't make it..! And the thin air.. it only makes it worse." I take a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I start walking down slowly, looking for any traps so I don't step on them by accident.
"I have to continue for my brother. I have to pass the test!" I start picking up my pace, barely managing to get down there before day break. I manage to open the door, accidentally falling on my face, but too tired to get up. "I.. am.. back.." Is the last thing i manage to say before falling unconscious.
Keizo POV:
"Huh. Despite getting injured badly, she still managed to get here. Amazing." I thought, recalling the letter my past student, Hakuji, sent me.
"I am sorry for my abrupt request, but I need you to train someone. I found a kid that wants to become a demon slayer, she was even brave enough to attack me to save her brother who has become a demon. I am not sure, but I think that that kid's brother may be different from the other demons as instead of attacking his sister, he went and protected her. Please train her to become a swordsman, and again, I apologize.
-Hakuji"
"I suppose I shall acknowledge you as a student then."
